Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Conyers

Being a server myself I’m very understanding and considerate of someone waiting on me before I lose my patience. I took myself, my mom, and daughter to this location a few days ago. When we entered it was already an irate family who were in the process of going off about the poor & slow service. I should’ve left then but we decided to stay. The place was not packed and when we arrived everyone there was already eating so I thought service would be quick, could not have been more wrong. After 10 minutes of being seated someone took our order. We waited an additional 5-7 minutes before another staff realized nothing was on our table and went to get our drinks. Finally our appetizer arrived or so we thought. A gentleman who didn’t take our order took our appetizers to the wrong table, sat them down and the customers at that table and himself proceeded to discuss over the food that it wasn’t there’s and didn’t know where it came from. He takes them back to the kitchen and 2-3 mins later reappears w the same appetizer and gives it to us. The only reason I said nothing was because of my mother, she believed they were fresh but being a server I know this was the same appetizer that was just sat at another table. 20 minutes have passed at this point and my daughter receives her kids meal. The fries were so hard my mom literally picked threw them to find ones my daughter could eat. 30 minutes have passed since we ordered and being 7 months pregnant I’m officially a upset and hungry mama. I track someone down and inform them could I please have my check to pay for our drinks and my daughters meal and they could just cancel the rest of the order since we never received it. The gentleman who gave our appetizer to the wrong table emerges(I’m guessing this was our server since he never formally introduced himself and numerous other women waited on us) with the check and proceeds to say “your food is ready now if you still wanted it”. I wanted my food in a timely manner after I ordered it not when I’m about to walk out the door because of the fact I haven’t been fed. Won’t be returning to this location & I’d advise anyone reading this to take your chances elsewhere. We weren’t even coming here at first but everyone else had wait times and when I called this particular Applebee’s they did not. BEWARE OF THE FOOD YOU RECEIVE FROM THIS APPLEBEES!! IT MIGHT BE LEFTOVERS. I ordered an oriental chicken salad via Uber from this location. I called to make sure the salad was substantial because I’ve experienced at this and the Covington location there were zilch ingredients included. When I received the salad I was so excited because I was hungry. I noticed that that the chicken seemed sparse and upon tasting was cold, greasy and hard. I looked inside one piece of the chicken and it looked overcooked and old and not fresh. I called Applebees and spoke to an associate about the chicken and also about about the brownie (the brownie was another issue). I told her about the condition of the chicken and the sparse $14 oriental salad. I couldn’t believe what she said. She told me that sometimes the cook freezes day or more leftover chicken and then chops it up and uses it in the salad. She said they were going through a shift change when my order came through so that is probably what happened. I couldn’t believe she admitted to that. WHAT!!! WHAT!!! So she is telling me this is the typical practice of this Applebees of giving folks non fresh food to save themselves a buck. What do they use scraps from what people don’t eat??? This is unsanitary!! I also asked about the brownie because all I received was one piece that was the dice of a nickel. I asked where was the rest of it. I was told for $3 that is the size you receive. They gave me more chocolate sauce for the brownie than brownie. The ice cream that goes with the brownie was a spoonful and melted. I asked the associate to speak to a manager and she put me on hold and never came back to the phone. I held for almost 15 minutes. I called back and asked to speak to a manager and I think it was one that came to the phone—-or the associate just changed her voice. She said she didn’t know what had going on because she just came on shift. I don’t know how this Applebees stays in business putting out food that is this disgusting!! I will never order from this restaurant again because their prices have gone up and the quantity and quality of food have gone down. They need to close this location down!! Mothers day 2024 was a bust for me thanks to Applebee's. First it wasn't THAT busy, no lines, some empty tables. Me and my son was taken to a table as soon we got in, I was even able to choose where I wanted to sit. About 15 min in our waitress appeared, we gave our drink orders, water and a sprite, 10 min later we gave our order, a salad and appetizer sampler and a burger. Meanwhile, people sat down behind us, mind you, this is about 20 min after us. The waitress took their drink orders, came back with their drinks, so by this time I was not quite feeling a certain way but it was coming. The waitress passed our table several times before I stopped and asked if we could at least get our drinks, she went to the kitchen, brought the table behind us their food, returned back with our drinks, but kind of slammed them on the table and said as she walked away we didn't have to pay for them. Im like wth did we do to her? I waved the guy who sat us down over and asked about our food and told him I would probably need to go boxes as it was taking so long, he went back to cleaning tables, then went to the back, the waitress came back out with just the salad and again kind of slammed it on the table. At this point, I was done. When she came back, I asked for the check, did not touch the salad (why she was mad and taking it out on me, who knows, but I wasn't touching the food now), because we never got our food, and the water and sprite was at no charge i didn't have to pay. But, I have to reiterate, it was NOT busy, there were empty tables, no lines and it was after 1pm, so I do not know what the issue was, I was just trying to spend mothers day with my son.
