Just went here at around 10pm with my husband and they’re supposed to close at 11pm. As soon as we walked in, there was no line so we walked up to order. We had to wait for a few minutes for one of the 2-3 employees who were more engaged in joking around with each other and their own conversations before we got help.
When we did get help they weren’t making any more of the meats my husband and I wanted (which is fine, there was a little left in the hot plates). While we’re ordering, one of the other employees comes over and interrupts us (so she can joke around with the person helping us) and then started laughing about the obvious interruption.
During this interruption, the person helping us told the other employee not to use the rest of the Honey Walnut Shrimp…. This is important because she then cuts right in front of the employee helping us to scoop most of what was left of the H.W.S into the order she was working on. Our employee then asked what I wanted, and guess what I said? Yup… H.W.S. Then these two girls had a good laugh while saying “nothing I’m just laughing” while the girl helping us asked the other what was so funny.
Soon after, we paid and left. But throughout the whole ordering experience, these employees kept joking, cursing, talking about getting high, and then calling another employee “sharpie”… that dude was black. He was laughing, but idk how that guy feels abt the situation so I won’t speak on that. But the whole experience was super unprofessional, juvenile, and just plain uncomfortable.
I don’t want to get anyone in trouble by this, I’ve had experience as a waitress (and I get that this is a chain fast food restaurant however,) I would have said something to my manager/shift leader about this kind of behavior from my coworkers… frankly, my managers wouldn’t have tolerated that kind of unprofessional conduct at all.
Oh, also my husband didn’t have very much chicken in his order….not to mention that the chicken and H.W.S that we got in our meals came from the bottom of the bowl and were either soggy or...
Read moreOriginal review from quite a while ago: Good food, very noisy atmosphere. I left 4 stars.
10/4/23: Update. Although the person dishing out the food rushed me, she and the other person behind the counter seemed to be running in slow motion. As a matter of fact, we had to leave and come back after our appointment because after 10 or so minutes minutes of waiting our turn, the line had not moved.
When we came back, the food looked old and like it had been sitting there since we came the first time 90 minutes ago. I found my usual dish and asked her if it was fresh and hot. (It didn't look like it). She said it had only been there for 10 minutes. Since I knew this couldn't possibly be accurate, I asked for a sample. It was barely lukewarm, and the green bean literally folded several times because it was so old. I told her her that it wasn't hot, and politely asked if they'd mind making some fresh. She said ok, then proceeded to load up my Styrofoam dish with chowmein while my new entrée was being made. 10 or 15 minutes later (now that the chowmein was nice and lukewarm), my order was ready. Is it just me, or wouldn't common sense have told her to wait to dish out hot chowmein for the picky lady that wants HOT food?). I wasn't about to argue with her. I felt guilty enough for insisting on hot food for the first half of my meal. (Things aren't like they used to be when a patron could expect hot food, and if it wasn't, the server actually cared and saw to it that the problem was addressed) What sealed the deal? She gave me the wrong entree! That's enough for me. We might give it another 2 years and try again. Sad deal because it's always been a...
Read moreHave eaten at the new Corvallis store three times now. The first two times our experience was good. On the third, not so much. My wife, grandson, and myself went on the evening of July 7th, around 6:15. There were four people sitting at a table, one person in line ahead of us, and one was behind us - so it wasn't a terribly busy night.
They were low on several of the entrees that we were interested in and rather than having it getting cooked in anticipation of running out they waited until there was none left to inform the cook so he could cook more. As a result, he was having to prepare more of several of the entree items at the same time.
My wife wanted to get the broccoli and beef, her favorite, but it looked terrible. The broccoli was so desiccated looking that no one would have ordered it - so it sat there getting even more dried out. Nothing is more unappetizing than a container full of dried out looking vegetables.
During all of this one of the two counter gals went to take a break and was told to get back to work by the cook. All in all we waited about ten minutes to get the things we had ordered. When we got home our grandson's order of Samurai Surf and Turf was all turf, no surf.
We have had two good experiences here prior to this one and were surprised and disappointed by what happened this last time. It appears they need more help in the cooking and monitoring areas.
We will give them another chance but if this had been our first experience with them we likely wouldn't be going back a...
