Juniper’s — Restaurant in Covington

If you haven't been here then you're missing out. The cocktails are expertly crafted and the entire staff is spirited about your experience and the drinks they're making. I genuinely disliked gin before I tried this place out, and after a crash course and tasting different types, I now confidently order gin cocktails knowing I'm going to enjoy them. They have a great selection of small plates that are always delicious. Both menus rotate frequently, so I rarely find myself getting the same thing. The bands they host are always excellent and the volume never bothers me. Although not advertised, they also do a discounted menu on Wednesdays!

The food is served tapas style, in small portions, often with international flavors. If I'm going for a full dinner, I usually order 3 items or sharing 4-5 plates with another person - which is like half the menu. The Caesar salad is a menu staple and my favorite in the whole city. Whatever meatballs that they have are always good, too.

Not only is this a great date-night place, it's a great spot for large groups, too. The owners were very accommodating for the larger parties I've hosted and it's plenty of space for other larger parties that I've attended. My husband and I went to juniper's for the first time this past weekend. I am a gin lover and really wanted to try this place. It is really lovely and cozy inside and we were treated to some soothing a jazz music while enjoying our cocktails. I had the traditional French 75 which was very tasty and my husband had a flight of different gins. This establishment is very unique in that they have 244 different types of gin. We did meet the owner who was behind the bar on our visit. He was very friendly and helpfully described each of the gins that my husband had in his flight. They were rather busy so we did have to wait a minute for our cocktails to be served but they were certainly worth the wait. This place has a lovely vibe my wife said it was Homie like 20 times. For the area the place is huge. I like that it was not loud even when people we laughing and talking. They have a ton of different Gins. I can't complain about the prices. Drinks were $8-$10 I also had a specialty ginger ale $2.50. Food was delicious even with the dishes being tapas each dish had different flavors within the dish. Like the deviled eggs were 3 distinct flavors and all of them were very good.
