The Bodega at Roebling — Restaurant in Covington

I was so excited to try this place, but left so so so disappointed. We walked out without ordering anything. The vibe inside is cute, but the stock options are equivalent to a gas station. The "Bodega Latte" is $10 -- for a cup of coffee with caramel! Thats wild! Roebling Point (down the street) offers the same thing for $6. The two biggest let downs were that they don't sell breakfast sandwiches before 10am, and that they don't make any of the bagels in house. While we were there, we literally saw a DoorDash grocery delivery for KROGER BRAND BAGELS???? $10-12 for a generic Kroger Brand bagel is WILD. After saw the employee "make" the avocado toast (plain bread, half an avocado, and NOTHING ELSE for $9!!), we ended up not ordering anything and just left. I'm not paying $$$ for food I can literally recreate at home. Really a let down because it's a cool idea in a great spot, but y'all are doing too much. A coworker and I came on our lunch break we work nearby and has seen the development of it and we’re excited that it was finally open. We walked in and were not greeted with warm smiles nor a welcome. But rather stares from the a women who was seemingly a customer, another woman who was behind the counter as well as a man. The place is really cute and we were excited about a good bagel/sandwich shop in Covington. The restaurant was not busy, but it took us 35 minutes to get our 2 sandwiches. The staff completed the order of people who walked in after us before ours (even though we had left a 20% tip).
