Visited Sunday 01/16/23 called for 2hours before coming here, NONE PICKED UP. WASTED MY MONEY AND TIME WITH HORRIBLE EMPLOYEES AND SERVICE.
I sat in the takeout section after placing my order and patiently waiting for my food. I was in direct view of the kitchen and the rest of the restaurant. My food was dropped off by a male. I watched him drop if off. Melissa who took my order was distracted chit chatting with her fellow coworkers. NONE of them bothered to ask if I had gotten my food yet or what I was sitting there waiting for. Literally about 2ft away from them. Not even the manager Steve who seem to busy meddling with his cellphone.
Moments later after the food had been sitting there, Melissa then goes towards the table realises it's mine then side eyes me because she knew she had had me unnecessarily waiting. NO IT WASN'T BUSY!!!
I tried bringing this up to her attention telling her that this was wrong. I didn't have a problem waiting as had already been waiting but she should have done the courtesy of letting me know. And how she responded she lied saying they just brought it. I told her I had been sitting there and I SAW when the food was dropped off. SHE VERY NONCHALANTLY responded "ohhh sorry". She starting smiling as if it was funny and that was what upset me. IT IS NOT FUNNY! It wasn't funny. I drove her 30mins under the rain to pick my food up just to be disregarded and given cold food.
The manager apologized and offered me a free dessert as if hunger for some sweets was what my problem was. I came here and spent money because I could not afford a desert? I requested to speak to management and I hope these inefficient, nonchalant employees are punished!!!!
Then when Steve turned behind to go get me coporates number, another fat employee, with short curly hair called Emmanuel and the useless, sluggish Melissa started gossiping, giggling, mumbling, making snarky comments as they laughed unnderneath their breath( I heard something HR). This is going on all while I was RIGHT there. I said excuse me " I'm here! I can hear you! And he responded while rolling his eyes "ehmmm yea".
Immediately I walked out of the door, I turned behind and tapped the door thinking I had forgot something and comming to the conclusion that I should just return the food and go next door to another restaurant where I could actually sit down and eat(mind you I drove 30mins). MY FOOD WAS SWEATY, there were no utensils in the bag, I couldn't locate the side of greens I'd just payed for.... Then just for me to see Steve the so called manager and the employee Melissa with smirks on their faces as they seemed to be casually trivializing the issue, chit-chatting. He then ( rolled his eyes) I could read his body language as he expressed frustration as if I was being an inconvenience. Steve lifting his head, rolls eyes and said what seemed to be- ohh come on!
I am not a troublesome or belligerent person. This issue would have been resolved if employees payed attention then when you faulter, don't try to twist it around and lie. Genuinely apologize isn't of smiling and gossiping as if I am unimportant or a clown. If I was crazy this issue would have gone South FAST! One day they'll meet someone who's will become really violent especially with the side remarks, laughing, rolling eyes, and nonchalantly behavior.
Ordered at 9:02 got home at 10:35. Had...
Read moreDear Lucille’s Management,
I’m writing to express my extreme disappointment with the experience I had today at your Culver City location. I brought my wife and mother-in-law for a special Mother’s Day dinner, and what should have been an enjoyable evening turned into one of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve ever had.
I had made a reservation for 6:30 PM and wasn’t seated until 6:45 PM. While I understand slight delays may happen on busy days, what concerned me was watching other parties — who arrived after us — being seated before us. This felt discriminatory, and as an Asian guest, I couldn’t help but feel like we were being treated unfairly.
Once seated, we ordered our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. The deviled eggs and salad came within about 10 minutes, but after finishing those, we waited an unreasonable 35–45 minutes for our entrees. In that time, a party seated after us had already received all their food and finished eating. I asked our server, Mark, about the delay, and he simply said the kitchen was working on it. Ten minutes later, I followed up, and again, he said it would be coming out soon.
Another 15 minutes passed, and we were completely fed up. I asked Mark to pack our order to go because my wife and mother-in-law were visibly frustrated and disappointed. Even then, we waited another 10 minutes, and still nothing was brought to us. I finally asked to speak with a manager.
It was then we were told the real issue — Mark never submitted our entree order. To add insult to injury, the manager initially told us we’d still need to pay for the appetizers and drinks, which I was willing to do. However, as she was adjusting the receipt, another manager came over with an attitude and said, “You can just go.”
This was the worst experience I’ve had at any Lucille’s location. I normally dine at the Cerritos restaurant, where service has always been excellent. But this visit to Culver City left my family upset on a day that was supposed to be special. Not only were we neglected, but the lack of accountability and poor communication from your staff was unacceptable.
I sincerely hope you take this complaint seriously and provide proper training to your staff, especially on high-traffic days like Mother’s Day. No guest should be made to feel ignored or mistreated — especially not on a day meant to...
Read moreCOULD BE BETTER ! My wife and I arrived here at 11.30am on Wednesday for a rare family get together. We were having lunch to remember my wife's Dad whose ashes had just been interred in a wall at a chapel in Culver City. Our brother-in-law picked this place for the remembrance lunch. By the looks of all the signs inside it served BBQ and Southern style food. I had a quick chat with Naeya the hostess and then joined the crew inside. The joint was dead empty when our gang of 10 or so arrived. It had the feel of a chain restaurant and certainly the look. It is what it is ! Things moved very slowly....they opened at 11am. I don't usually drink alcohol with lunch at home or out and I wasn't changing that today. GOOD THING ! I had earlier checked out the beers on tap and it was a heap of the usual suspects...Coors Light etc. A server brought everyone huge glass jars of ice cold water....they were humungous ! Meanwhile my wife and I checked out the menu....there was very little of interest for us. We don't do fried food particularly chicken. In the end we chose a combo tray with a leg of smoked chicken, smoked pulled pork and 3 sides for $30. The male server brought our table some complimentary Southern Style Biscuits with sides of Apple Butter. THINGS WERE SLOW ! Eventually lunch orders of burgers, salads, fried shrimp, fries etc started coming out. Our combo order was about the last to arrive. NOT SO GOOD ! My wife gave me half of the smoked chicken leg...the uncooked half. It was way too pink for my liking. On the other hand my wife's portion of the smoked chicken leg was overcooked and over chewy. The smoked pulled pork tasted kinda greasy. The sides of Collard greens, potato salad and corn mix tasted good enough. I didn't hear any complaints from the others about their food so maybe we dudded out. For 30 bucks we thought our combo tray was rubbish. Our brother-in-law was footing the bill so we said nothing. NOT OUR...
