Update
I'm leaving the five stars cuz I'm not interested in creating a bad review for the restaurant, but needed to mention something. I don't know what happened but this week I came in and everything was good. Came through the drive-thru and got a Whopper off the broiler. Then came in today through the drive-thru and I was disappointed because I've worked around food long enough to know there was a microwave involved in the construction of the sandwich. My thought is that they are short staffed and so they are having to resort to cooking the burgers ahead and then microwaving them whether they do just the burger or the bun with the burger. Not only does it ruin the bun but it ruins the cheese and The cheese that was on the sandwich what's microwaved. The whole sandwich was compromised. Everybody knows what bread is like when it's been microwaved. Not only does it ruin the bread but it makes it odd shaped and on top of that both sandwiches that I got because I got that one replaced and it was replaced with a sandwich that was in worse condition than the one I had. I didn't end up eating the rest of that sandwich because of that. Somewhere in the process of this something was microwaved because the bottom of that sandwich was so burning hot to the touch and I know that was a microwave especially the condition of the bun, particularly the underneath bun is where I'm talking about. Also the sandwich was not completely together, it was slid apart and that was on both sandwiches. Speaking more so of the underneath of it. So, I don't think I'm going to come back. I was disappointed in this. I figured it's probably from being understaffed and so they don't have time to make the sandwiches with the lack of staff with hungry customers. So unfortunately I probably won't be back because of this but still leaving the good review because it's still stands for the day at least I was in here through the drive-thru that it was very good and that was over the weekend.
Previous review: When I went to place my review, it was no surprise to me that this place had almost five stars. I happen to be in the area and wanted to get a small sandwich which was a Whopper Jr., it was absolutely delicious. There's another local Burger King which I won't mention because I don't want to make them look bad, and their burgers are not fresh and neither is the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and the buns are always stale and chewy and gummy. On the contrary, the sandwiches at chapel Hill Howe road location are the absolute opposite, and are delicious and taste like they make them fresh. At the payment window, there was a nice and friendly gentleman and he was a delight to talk to! He was just so sweet and nice! He was very friendly and he even noticed that I had been there the day before and mentioned it. I let him know that the burger was so good that I came back for another one today! He is a very nice person and what a joy to have people like this working! Then when I got to the food window, the lady there when I asked for extra condiments was very very nice! What a joy it was to come to your establishment. I work with food delivery for a side job and this is not the norm. It's always usually the opposite, met with not so nice service and people and food. Whatever you're doing, which is wonderful, keep up the great work. Many people that work in fast food are hard workers. It's a REAL job and they should be proud that they're doing such a great job. It's not hard to stand on your feet for hours and have people and customers treating you nasty, which I know they go through, and that is not right. I know this for a fact because I work in food work and I know the sauc some customers are mean to the workers, which is not nice. They don't deserve that. Thank you for the great food and service, and when I'm in the area again, I'll be back. Thank you again for setting a good example. You deserve the encouragement and accolades for the great job. Thank...
Read moreThis is a comment after the remodel of the restaurant. I was very disappointed. I'm not trying to make the store look bad in any way. There's a nice lady manager in there and a lot of hard workers I'm sure. A lot of fast food people put up with a lot of mean people. I know because I have worked fast food in times past, but today needs mentioned. I'm sure it's not the fault of the manager, but it is the fault of someone that's taking shortcuts. Today I came in through the drive-thru. The order I placed was a chicken sandwich off the fryer and a medium french fry off the fryer. I was ready to try the new restaurant and was sadly disappointed when I took my order to my area where I eat my lunch. I have been eating these chicken sandwiches for years. When they're made off the fryer fresh they are very good. The chicken sandwich I got was not hot. I know what they did because the characteristics of the chicken proved it. They took that piece of chicken they had already cooked in previous time and put it back in the fryer to heat it up. When you do that it's burnt and ruined. Also I got pickle on that and the pickle was stale. When pickles are not set out to the air, they are crispy. I asked for extra extra mayo on the sandwich and there was not enough mayonnaise. There was more on the wrapper than there was on the sandwich. Also, as I said the sandwich when it comes off the fryer is piping hot and this was not and the chicken was burnt up. Also there was something wrong with the lettuce. Not sure how to describe that. The fries were hot but it appeared like they double-dunk them. They were browner than usual and there was some missing out of the container. I'm being a little picky here because it is a lot and I do mean a lot of money to eat out and all I ordered was a sandwich and a fry and it was nearly $10, so I'm mentioning it. I thought that the quality of the food would be better with the new restaurant but it was not. I'm sure it's not easy working at that freezing cold window so I'm not going to criticize how people conducted themselves. They were fine because I only dealt with one person. Let me back up I did deal with a cashier and he was new. He liked the location because he said the people were nicer here. He told me the location he used to work at and I would say that he's correct on that that people are definitely nicer at the location where he was at. He was a pleasant young man and we had a nice conversation while I was paying for my order. If things improve I'll take this review down because it wasn't meant to hurt anybody it was just meant as getting my point across without having to go into the restaurant to talk about it. I was really disappointed in that order and expected it to be 100% quality and it was not. When somebody wants a chicken sandwich off the fryer, that's what they should get instead of a redunk. Anybody could say and I've heard this before, oh we don't do that, but why was the sandwich not hot? It's a matter of whether they saw the employee do it or not. In a few short months I won't even be eating this food anymore because some big changes are coming for me, while I'm eating it and spending money on it, I felt that somebody in management that will take this seriously will take a look at it. It's just food but when people are buying this food it's an expense. I could have come back but I didn't want to deal with it. A lot of times it's just so much stress to have your order redone because some management in some places get angry or employees get angry or defensive and I don't come in that frame of mind. I want them just to fix it. A lot of times I just don't want to deal with it and just try to get through it and take it as it is which is not acceptable. I wanted to mention also and I don't know what it was, the sandwich didn't taste right. That might have been because the chicken was burnt up. The bread was on the stale...
Read moreWhat a horrible experience I had today and unfortunately not my first from the Burger King Chapel Hill location! It is so sad employees can treat customers badly, and get away with it! My special needs daughter has been buying her meals from Burger King for approximately over 10 years on her pay days. She loves fresh off the broiler double cheese burgers and fries out of the frier. However, in particularly today, Sept. 5. 2024, around 1 in the afternoon, Tom, the "on the regular rude cashier," becomes upset with me when I ask for a fresh meal. "He said there are other Burger King's, go there because we, Burger King, will no longer take my orders." Today the manager and Tom gave demeaning and condescending demeanors and sarcastic words. Especially Tom, their regular cashier, will never put fresh on the orders, and when I question him, he says they know! Then today the fries were lukewarm and they microwaved the burger. I took it back, the manager, Sally, lied and argued with me as if I can't tell a skalling hot fry fry from a lukewarm fry. There I am waisting my time trying to purchase what I ordered. When I got my replacement order, as I stood there and watched the cook microwave the burger. I was trying to be as Christlike as my nerves tolerated, and I decided to refuse to continue to complain again. I was exhausted. I returned home with not skalling fries because I had stood there and waited as the cook pretended to make a burger off the broiler. After that hell, I returned home. My daughter said the soda tasted funny. I got back in my car returned to Burger King and asked for a refund on the soda. I asked Sally and Tom, why Burger King, "Have it Your Way," takes our fresh orders personal. They literally resent my orders and give me lukewarm food, sarcastic innuendos, and threats. Tom demanded that "they will never take my orders again." I told him he will be fired after I reported his behavior to their corporate office. He said more, but who cares. I returned home and looked up the corporate number which failed to work! My Lord! Sincerely, Regular...
