To merely call Kelsey a bartender would be like calling a rock god a "guitar enthusiast." From the moment we secured our prized stools at Bar W, it was clear we were in the presence of a master. She doesn't just take orders; she conducts a symphony of spirits with the frantic, beautiful energy of a drummer in a finale. The shaker isn't a tool in her hands, it's a percussive instrument, and her pour is a gravity-defying act that would make a physicist weep with joy. I asked for a simple Old Fashioned and received what can only be described as a liquid sonnet, a smoky, complex masterpiece that made me question every life choice that led me to previously accepting lesser drinks. This wasn't service; it was a performance, and we had front-row seats.
Kelsey's talent, however, extends far beyond mere mixology. She is a savant, a mind-reader, a therapist with a better stock of bitters. Witnessing her remember a regular's "usual" from two years prior was like watching a wizard recall an ancient spell. She navigates a five-deep, roaring crowd with the effortless grace of a ninja, simultaneously calming a stressed-out bride, settling a bet between friends, and inventing a new cocktail on the spot for a customer who "just likes things that are blue and taste like summer." By the end of the night, you don't just feel like a satisfied customer; you feel like you've been let into an exclusive, incredibly fun club. If Bar W has any sense, they've already built a small throne behind the bar and started engraving her name on the "Employee of the Decade" plaque. Kelsey isn't just a rockstar; she's the headline act, and Bar W is the luckiest...
Read moreThis place is the definition of wasted potential. The location? Absolutely stunning. The venue? Cool enough to make you want to keep coming back. But the experience? A slow motion car crash in real time.
Let’s talk service…. or the complete lack of it. Every time we go, we end up with the same server who seems to be in a perpetual state of being either drunk, rude, or both. She is miserable. It’s actually impressive how consistent the bad attitude is. Want another cocktail? Good luck. Want to order? Better pray. Want basic human decency? Not on the menu. It’s not just a one off thing….it is VERY consistent.
The food doesn’t help either. It hovers somewhere between blah and meh. Completely acceptable if the service was great. You can find better options within a two minute walk in literally any direction.
The most frustrating part? I want to love this place. The setting is perfect. It should be a go to. But every visit feels like a test of patience and lowered expectations.
This place could be amazing……someone decided to give a damn. Until then, it’s just a gorgeous venue being absolutely ruined by...
Read moreUpdate- keeping the Stars the same but I have to say I was disappointed in the Philadelphia rolls I'm on a budget and the menu said that it came with mozzarella inside and it did not it came with some type of yellow orange cheese that had a slight sweet flavor and these are just sitting in my fridge I just was not digging it that was a huge surprise though because I've loved every bit of food I have received here I would say though if you're not going to put mozzarella in it the menu should probably reflect that because that's why I purchased them and honestly I should have just sent them back but I did not and now it's a struggle to eat them and I don't like to waste food so we will make it work . . What a revamp! Place looks amazing and it does not smell And the new bar seats are so comfortable so perfect for me to do business . Alex is great, and bartenders are great! The food? Wow! I was actually surprised and quite possibly the best caesar salad I have had...
