03/24/22 Update: Went today with a friend for brunch. All the food is organic and most raised or grown right on the property. It's been good. But a few basics to understand, if you get the Cobb salad, understand this is a very small portion with no chicken and only 1 egg, some crumbles of bacon, blue cheese and tomatoes. My friend ordered another salad and told them to add a chicken breast. Both salads came out together with a different server and my friends didn't come out with the chicken. The server Alexandra was no where to be found. Finally after we finished, she showed up and my friend said, I never got my chicken and Alexandra said, "oh it didn't come out"..... "Well, I'll make sure they don't charge you for it. " But no apology for anything. She asked me if I wanted anything and I said yes, a to-go glass of ice tea. 5 min later she brings me a glass of ice tea. I told her I wanted it to go.... And she said, ok, I will go get you a glass. 30 min later I give up and go in to help myself with a plastic glass and there is Alexandra cleaning the soda machine and I said "I still need the to-go glass of tea" and again, no apology, just pointed me to the plastic glasses. I honestly don't know if she was high, dense, or had a boyfriend break up with her, but omg, before she ruins your restaurant reputation, keep her away from the customers. 😳
2/10/20 Very good delicious casual organic restaurant that is located in the middle of a neighborhood and easy to miss. Counter staff was friendly. All menu items my party tried were fresh and delicious. Great for lunches...
Read moreI heard about this place about a year ago. The fact that it said it is dog friendly caught my eye. I do therapy dog work at nearby Baylor Hospital, so I figure it was ideal for me to stop for a quick lunch. My dog and I entered by the front entrance since I saw no other available entrance from the small parking lot next-door. We proceeded to the counter where there is a large billboard hanging above listing the menu. i ordered a BLT Avocado sandwich. The young man taking my order remarked that dogs were only allowed on the patio. I told him I would have been glad to have gone to the patio but did not see an entrance to it from the parking lot, but I would be happy to go there immediately , and would someone come and take my order from me? He remarked, “ oh well, it’s OK, just go out to the patio after you place your order. I wrestled with getting my drink for myself, plus my utensils, napkins, and straw, all the while holding a leash, purse and Kindle. A guest saw my struggle and offered to assist! A guest, not an employee! We proceeded to the patio where we were completely alone. After a long wait a busboy/handyman came outside. I asked if he’d bring me water for my pup which he kindly did. Finally, after a long wait, my sandwich arrived. It was average, and I was hungry! Never did any employee or manager come out to see if I needed anything. I was invisible. The patio was in disarray with chairs sitting haphazardly around the patio rather than at tables. The place looked unkept. My experience was so substandard I’ll...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. I have tried. The fact that it's local and has an adorable garden with two convenient playgrounds are all big pluses in my book. But three times out of three now the food and the service have been bad.
Today my husband and I went at about 12:00 PM and it was kind of busy for lunch but not crazy. It should have been an easily manageable volume of business for this place, but the staff was stressed. Everyone working there acts like they'd really rather not be.
My pancakes were burned on the outside and raw on the inside. My sausage was burned too, but I like mine over cooked so I ate it. Did not eat my pancakes. My husband's collard greens were very gritty, they were not washed properly before cooking. And his cheese grits were just bad. Had been sitting out and not a good flavor. He did enjoy his egg sandwich though.
They hurried us out the door and started cleaning our table before we were through with what little food we actually managed to find edible. There was no one waiting for a table. We had been sitting there for only about thirty minutes.
My husband asked for a refund on the pancakes which I did not eat and they gave him a coupon instead, worth less than the price of the inedible food we purchased. We will obviously not be using the coupon. We are never going back.
Spend your money elsewhere. You can do so much better. Dallas has many wonderful restaurants, but this is not...
