Las Huastecas #2 — Restaurant in Dallas

If I could give them a negative rate I would. My husband ordered tacos de carnitas and tacos de barbacoa. As soon as he came home it smelled so bad. We opened the to go plate and sure enough the tacos were soo gross I almost threw up when I took a bite. I checked the meat and there was hardly any meat, it was soggy pig skin 🤢🤢

The barbacoa had no type of flavor. We ended up throwing it in the trash that's how nasty they were. And I LOVE hole in the wall places but this place is just plain nasty.

Wow! This place was really good! I got to try the trompo & barbacoa tacos & I couldn't decide what I like better. I even got one of their pupusas & it was equally delicious. They also have buche, tripa & carnita tacos. Definetly coming back for more! They also serve estrujadas, enchiladas, entomatadas, chilaquiles, menudo & gorditas! Service was fast & friendly. Don't be deterred because yes these are hood tacos. But they are delicious! Gulp up on some agua frescas like horchata, Jamaica or Limon. Ooo did I mention the salsa?? Super flavorful & the red sauce will sneak up on you! Hopefully next time I get a little...

The servers were friendly. It's really a shame, because even though the prices are comparable to the next-door restaurant, El Hoyo, the whole operation is one step down from El Hoyo, It's unfortunate, for Las Huastecas, that both restaurants are located a few doors from each other in the same strip. If El Hoyo weren't there, I would certainly patronize Las Huastecas. And, I'd be happy to do so, not knowing what I was missing. I guess they stay in business from customer loyalty?
