After a long, stressful week at work, my coworkers and I decided to treat ourselves to a well-deserved Friday happy hour. We were looking forward to unwinding, catching up, and enjoying good food and drinks. Unfortunately, this place turned what should have been a relaxing evening into an absolute disaster.

We arrived a little after 5 PM and were immediately drawn in by the happy hour sign outside, which clearly advertised half-priced appetizers and drinks. Once inside, the menu also promoted $7 pies (pizza). Everything looked promising—until we attempted to place our order.

Our server Emma (who was truly the only bright spot in this experience) informed us that only the cheese pizza was $7. Every other pie was priced between $8–$10. The menu, however, simply said “$7 pies”—plural—with no indication that it applied to cheese only. That’s misleading and completely unacceptable.

To make matters worse, we were then told that appetizers were no longer half-priced, despite the very clear signage outside. When we asked about the inconsistency, we overheard a server at a nearby table say that he had informed management three weeks ago that the sign needed to be taken down. And yet—there it was, still misleading customers. If you’ve known for weeks that it’s inaccurate, why is it still up?

We requested to speak with the manager, and that’s when things went from bad to worse. Danielle, the manager, approached us with a condescending tone and dismissive attitude. Instead of acknowledging the restaurant’s mistake or offering a solution, she told us the menus had been “mixed up” and the sign was “old,” so we would not be honored the prices that were clearly displayed. How that’s the customer’s fault is beyond me.

She then sarcastically asked if there was “anything else” she could do before walking away, removing the sign outside (only after we brought it to her attention), and whispering something to a server—presumably about the situation—right in front of us. The lack of professionalism was astounding.

For the remainder of our visit, we were met with uncomfortable stares and cold energy from both Danielle and another male server. It was incredibly disappointing to be treated with hostility simply for pointing out clear discrepancies between the advertised specials and what was actually being offered.

And the food? Underwhelming, to say the least. We ordered the chicken meatball appetizer (at full price, of course), which came with three tiny, flavorless meatballs. No seasoning, no depth, no effort. The drinks were weak and uninspired—certainly not worth the price.

Once again, I want to stress that our server Emma was exceptional. She was patient, kind, and professional throughout the entire ordeal. She handled the situation far better than her manager did and is the only reason I’m not rating this experience even lower.

Bottom line: I came here to relax and recharge after a long week and left feeling even more stressed and frustrated. Between the false advertising, poor management, and lackluster food, I will not be returning—and I’ll be warning others to steer clear as well.

Do better, Danielle.

UPDATE: After my original review, a corporate representative, JoseLuis, reached out to apologize and admitted this was a "coaching moment" for the manager. He promised a gift card as a courtesy for the poor service.

Shockingly, that promise was just as empty as the original experience.

Despite polite follow-ups (screenshot attached), I was brushed off with a vague "it takes a few days" and never heard back -- and still haven't received anything.

The consistent lack of communication, accountability, and basic respect says everything you need to know about this company.

Save your canned apologies and your fake concern -- I would not step foot in this establishment again if you paid me. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague. You've lost a...

This must serve as a warning and im only doing review as a public service: they have exhibited simply inexcusable moments these last two times I ordered on ubereats with this last one being reprehensible. this is all fixable but at the moment it needs to be addressed: ive prob in the last 5 years have ordered from them around 20 times. Great food. Clean. Reasonably priced (well now not so much but I understand the plight of inflation combined with 3rd party fees - 30% - to smaller businesses forcing them to price up). Varied product. Consistent. A month ago I ordered from them and the driver messaged me "they just got order and just now making it and going to take a long time" but I was ok with it and food eventually got to my place, much later. Why would order be confirmed on ubereats which is done with a manual acceptance and then a delivery time assessed and then "not getting it?" so 5 weeks later, today I ordered. I saw driver after driver on uber map cancel once at restaurant. literally 5 altogether for this order. I messaged uber support that something at restaurant must be going on. why the f would I bother calling myself? im a power 3rd party delivery user - sadly - but like thousands a month spent on orders between the apps. then, an hour later, 5th driver cancelled and then order was cancelled by them. unacceptable. get your act together. this is a problem. my time was wasted and now im turned off in this competitive market of this brand. fix...

I got the prosciutto pizza. It was pretty tasty, but the food did little to nothing to offset the terrible service we received. We had planned a reservation for 25 people and coordinated in advance that we would all need separate checks, to which the restaurant agreed they could accommodate.

We arrive and have to wait 20 minutes before the waiter comes around to even ask if people wanted drinks. Another 20 minutes goes by before the drinks are brough out. 10 minutes later they finally come around to ask what people want to order for food. I think we waited a normal amount of time to receive our food, but at this point we had been waiting almost an hour. During our entire stay, nobody came by to ask if we needed more drinks, how our food was, or if anybody wanted desserts.

When it came time for the bill, the manager (?) comes to us and says they can only split the bill between 5 cards. We explain that we coordinated in advance, and after much back and forth, they determined that it was possible to split the bill 10 ways. They come back and tell us that each charge is a particular amount which was 10% of the total bill, without giving us an itemized bill. They did not explain to us until they started charging cards that a 20% gratuity had also been applied automatically. It was left to us to figure out how to pay people back for the food they had ordered.

Avoid this place. They do not support...

Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar on Oak Lawn Avenue in Dallas has a modern, casual setting with an open concept and lively bar area that makes it a popular spot for a relaxed meal. During a lunch visit. I ordered the Half Pie & Salad combo with a pepperoni pizza and added extra cheese for an additional $2. When the pizza arrived, I noticed only a light drizzle of mozzarella on top—far from what I expected for the extra charge. When I placed the order I asked the server about what “extra cheese” actually entailed and she gave a vague shrug when I asked if the pizzas typically came cheesy or more on the average side. While the crust was well done and the ingredients fresh, the lack of cheesiness was disappointing. That I had to ask for extra shredded Parmesan. Additionally, our server, who initially seemed a bit standoffish and disengaged, eventually warmed up after some friendly conversation at the bar, which improved the overall tone of the service. One inconvenience during the visit was that one of the restrooms were out of order, leaving only one unisex restroom available. I generally don’t enjoy using restrooms that are unisex, in my experience they usually have an unpleasant odor, which was unfortunately the case here. While the environment was visually appealing and the food was good, a few service and facility issues kept the experience from being a 5 star.
