Still Waiting for my Pizza
It’s been 16 days so far. Surely it will come any day now.
On November 20th, at 5:49 p.m., I ordered a large stuffed crust pizza and two marinara dipping sauces for a grand total of $19.34. It had been a long day, and I wasn’t feeling up to cooking, ya know? So what better place to feast my stomach and soul than Pizza Hut. Now, let’s back up: where I live, there are many options for pizza delivery. I am in a large metroplex. I could have chosen Dominos or Poppa John’s, but my tongue longed for the delicious Hut Sauce. I am a loyal customer, I love my Hut Stuffed Crust. Unfortunately, fate decided to part us forever on this fateful day.
When I ordered my pizza, I got a confirmation email. Food was coming, hallelujah. As you can see clearly from my confirmation, the delivery could be expected within the hour, so I sat down to eagerly await the bringer of food. Alas, he did not come. The minutes ticking by turned into hours, and 2 hours into my pizza-less purgatory, I realized it would never come. Hungry, irritated, grieving, I called the Pizza Hut where I placed my order. Not once, not twice, but thrice I called for aid.
Now here is where things get irredeemable. There are two Pizza Hut lines; one for ordering, and one for checking on orders. Being a dutiful customer, I had chosen the latter. After my first two calls were ignored, I decided to call the first line in an attempt to make contact. And hurrah, it worked, I heard a human voice on the other end of the line! I explained my problem (i.e., no pizza for two hours), and the sympathetic caller told me I’d be forwarded to the other line. I agreed, and proceeded to listen to the line ring. And ring. And ring. Zero assistance and zero pizzas later, I cancelled my order and turned to a competitor for sustenance (who, by the way, delivered within 20 minutes).
Torn from my desired pizza, I wrote an email Pizza Hut customer service. When I got an automated response, the message told me I’d be contacted within 3 days to discuss my problem. 16 days later, I’m still sitting by the phone. Time must pass differently within the Hut.
Shame on you, Pizza Hut. I understand accidents happen, but to then ignore your customer base was where your true colors showed through. I was your loyal customer for years, and all I wanted was some kind of response after waiting over 2 hours for a simple order. Read moreI ordered my food and the system said that my food would arrive at 8:36. I received an email saying that my food was delivered at 8:36, but it was not delivered until 9:10. I called the location and advised them that I never received any pizza and I live in an house and there hasn’t been anyone that turned in the cup de sac where I live. I was told that I would have to Wait till the driver gets back to confirm that my pizza was not delivered. I thought that was kinda crazy that the manager or associate would not be able to contact the driver on his cell phone to quickly confirm to get this resolved instantly. I just advised the representative I wanted my money back. I was told that I would have to wait until she closes Pizza Hut and then I would be issued a refund that would take 3 to 4 business days, I ask is there any credit that you can provide for the inconvenience the situation I was advised no . I responded back OK I’ll just come and get a receipt that confirms that I’m supposed to be receiving a refund. as I’m leaving out the door with my vehicle cranked up I see the driver turn on my street. I went ahead and excepted the pizza since the driver was here but got here 34 mins late. I called the representative back and let them know that the delivery guy had just got here not to worry about it I brought the piece in the house and I realize that I did not even receive my 2 L drink. I had to call the location back and they had the driver bring it and I received the 2 L. It was hot so that means it was riding in his car. The piece was not even really hot when I received it. It was warm. I’ll give it that but hot no. At this point, I’m just trying to make sure that me and my children eat some food because it was already late. The meal that I purchased was close to roughly $50 with tip at this point, I am very dissatisfied with Pizza Hut. Also, I thought that when your pizza doesn’t arrive on time, you’re supposed to get a free pizza. Well it seems like that’s a scam because the computer system is saying that your piece is being delivered on time when it’s really not, definitely thought I should take the time to share my experience and that it was very horrible also, this location is known for always making mistakes. Read moreI guess I should have read the reviews first and I wouldn’t be here now. I simply ordered online because I just got home from work took two hours for my order to be “delivered” only for me to find out when I call the manager claims the delivery person called me and I cussed them out and said I didn’t want my food ? In what world would that makes sense especially if they were here I’m not sure . I let her know that I never received a call and I’m not sure what happened because I’ve been waiting and trying to track and she has a whole attitude telling me how she doesn’t care and all . I’ve already had a long day and I asked can I simply just come pick up the order and you remake it she finally says yes. However after all the attitude has was terrified to try and even eat the pizza from there because I just don’t know what people are capable of and I’m not trying to get sick. But to go back and forth with a customer when they are actually right is sickening I didn’t tell you to work in fast food you chose that so when you chose that you have to have a sense of understanding of the other person as you would want at any other job. As a manager you are a problem solver especially when the customer isn’t even escalating !
