Spartan Gyros — Restaurant in Davie

This is a hidden gem as it sits in the very back of a shopping center off Weston Rd and Griffin just west of I-75. Food is always hot and fresh with plentiful servings (see pictures). We had the Gyro Salad, Gyro Platter and Chicken Souvlaki Platter. Food came out piping hot and the salad was fresh and crisp with a delicious greek style dressing. The sweet potato fries were salty, crispy and tender inside. Gyro meat was moist and servings were generous. Convenient counter order and then they bring you the food with self service drinks. Staff is always friendly and helpful in answering any questions. Menu has lots of options, but not overwhelming and you can make your own combo for a nice variety. We've been during the week for lunch and on Sunday for dinner with no change in the quality of food or service. I was excited to try this little tucked away place. I ordered take out and the food was supposed to be ready at a certain time. I showed up right on time. Was told it would be another 10 minutes. So I waited and went back 10 minutes later and proceeded to wait another 15 minutes. Some staff was friendly and another was very serious but, in the end, they were apologetic and threw in an extra dessert for the trouble. I will say they make the savory food fresh and it's delicious. They are very careful and meticulous with how they pack the food and they label everything which we really appreciate. Tried calling several times for a 30-person company event order, and after waiting more than 5 minutes, a lady finally picked up the phone with a very rude attitude toward our specific request. We decided to skip the service.

This is actually the second time we’ve had issues with the staff. The last one was back in August, when part of our team visited with a partner. We asked for the manager to clarify on a duplicated order and she claimed she was the manager but honestly, I doubt it as she seemed too relaxed and unprofessional, making annoyed faces and trying to dismiss our concerns. Pretty sure she’s also the one answering the phone.
