I like the smoothies at this location and pretty much have developed a daily habit of them. (Somewhat red-faced saying that!). With that said, however, the staff are in serious need of lessons in basic courtesy. "Thank-you, "thanks," "you're welcome" may be vestiges of a by-gone era, which is unfortunate, but make a customer feel their business is appreciated. I generally leave a tip when I get my change after my purchase and put it in the tip jar in front of the service person. Seldom has anyone acknowledged that. I did it for a while because I wanted to see how long it would take before someone said "thank-you." It really is kind of comical how the service personnel behave. They are in their own world and do not endeavor to interact with their customers to any extent beyond taking and making the order. Yes, it is a "job," and just to make money perhaps without any commitment beyond the transaction itself. However, are these employees bereft of personality of any sort? I guess being inconsiderate of the customer, rudeness, lack of interest and personality are personality traits, but not ones that will really serve your benefit for long-time service. Are these attributes part of the criteria for employment here? I imagine an interview multiple choice question at this shop consisting of: "What do you say to a customer after they pay for their order? Possible responses: (a) Thank-you; (b) A pleasure to serve you; (c) We appreciate your business; (d) Drop Dead; (e) Nothing. Correct responses - (d) and (e)." Others have commented about how the service personnel have earbuds stuffed into their skulls or are on their phones or doing anything else besides paying attention to the customers. What a shame. The owner and/or manager of this establishment should really think about having a course in manners before unleashing these representatives...
Read moreI came in close to closing. My family has been sick for days and unanimously they wanted smoothies tonight. A quick decision that afforded me little time to make my way over there.
I walked in about 5 mins before closing, half the lights were off and the open sign was off as well.
I walked in and asked if they were still open, the girl responded back to me “well….we’re closing in 3 minutes”
Got it, enough said. I works for 10+ years in food service and I know exactly what type of experience I would have had should I have pressed further.
They probably saved themselves 10-15 minutes of time by not making my order and not having to clean a few extra blender jars. I would’ve bought 3-4 smoothies, easily $40 plus a generous tip. This could’ve translated into me coming back a few more times this week, with the same size order because someone in my family would be the pushing vote based on the smoothie they had from this evening.
Instead, fueled by my annoyance and looking at the overpriced carrot express smoothies (open another hour later) I went to Publix and bought the ingredients to make my own smoothies at home.
We hadn’t been grocery shopping because we’ve been sick but this pushed me to put the nail in the coffin on any potential visits to smoothie king the rest of this week or even in the next 6-9 months.
Hey, but y’all saved 10-15 mins of labor tonight (maybe for two people?). Clearly y’all don’t need...
Read moreWent today to this smoothie king location that I have been to multiple times in the past. And today was the worst experience I’ve had. I ordered my bowl and smoothie online ahead of time with a pickup time of 12:13pm. When I arrive at 12:15pm my bowl is ready but not my smoothie. I saw 1 employee only working on 4 smoothies at 1 time. There were 5 people waiting in the store. I assumed the worker was making my smoothie that I had ordered online before arriving. No!! They were not. Instead all 5 people in the store received their smoothies first. I proceeded to ask, “what about my smoothie I ordered online?”. The employee responded “ohh, I’m doing it now”. 5 new people walked in the employee had the audacity to take all of those peoples orders first before making my smoothie. Then thinking my smoothie was up next, nope 1 of the new people that ordered received theirs first. The manager proceeded to come in and help and still I did not receive my smoothie. I expressed my frustration with the manager. He gave me my smoothie without an apology a thank you or anything he didn’t say a word to me nor even look me in the eyes to say sorry about the wait. Very unprofessional manager and employee. I most likely won’t be coming back to this location unless the...
