My wife and I loved going here up until recently. We always take our sushi burrito's to go since we live about 30 minutes away and it's a nice pit stop along the road on a longer drive. Unfortunately, the previous time we had gone, my wife ended up finding plastic in her sushi burrito. Yikes. And I had shrimp tails in mine. Not the edible kind. Must have been a new cook or someone just slipped. Called and let them know, to which they said they would remake them next time we are there, on the house. Since we don't live close, I let them know if might be a couple months. Sure enough, we were just back there a couple months later (2 weeks ago) and I called ahead to let them know about the previous experience and how they said they would remake them next time on the house. The person on the phone said "OK, uhm, let me check with my manager". So we drove over, I went inside, and they said "So we can give you a 50% discount on these 2 sushi burrito's". I realize this is not what was promised me over the phone, but we were hungry with 2 toddlers and newborn baby in the car, so I just paid for it and ran off. The manager did assure me that the plastic was a fluke and must have come off when putting the rice on there. (Still... not something I want to find eating my food) After getting home, we still found shrimp tails in the sushi burritos. I'm starting to wonder if this is just the new normal? We've gone here maybe 10 other times and never had this issue until recently. Maybe it's the cook? Or maybe it's just normal... either way I don't think we'll be back ourselves. If you don't mind a little shrimp tail in yours though, it's...
Read moreGreat value. Excellent food and portions are good size. ((They put plenty on your plate, not the plate they're taking home...) p#n%a e#pr3ss..) Probably a little crowded on Friday & Saturday evenings, so be ready to wait a little bit in line. It is worth it though, so just chill. Staff are nice, when they're busy, they may be a little short on time, but it don't mean nothing, they're just busy. Weekday evenings are the best. You get extra attention and the tablescare cleaned regularly and well stocked with soy sauce, napkins, watch. Utensils are way a counter separate from the order desk pos. Pick up your forks, knives, spoons, & napkins to the right side of the door (left side of you're on your way out...) They've got fresh ahi (tuna) and salmon from local supplies so you don't have to worry too much about the radiation from those caught in the wild off the coast. Overall, it's a very satisfying place. You will leave full, if you want. And they have a great atmosphere for sports on 2 big TV's when there's live action. There's only fountain drinks for those that want alcohol, beer, etc I guess you'll have to hit GeeStreet bar or Woodstock's... But this place has better food. More food per buck. And Its probably healthier, too. IDK - this is just MHO. But, give the place a shot. I promise you'll come...
Read moreCame here for dinner, we ordered, a zesty salmon sushi wrap, a soft shell crab sushi wrap, chicken karaage, and a spam jalapeño masubi. (Total was $53.53).
The chicken Karaage was hot and crunchy and it comes with a Sriracha mayo, I felt like you needed more sauce, so once we got low we stopped and saved it for later. We could have just asked for more, but i just wanted to move on to the best part...the sushi burrito! (The image of the Karaage is about half the amount, as we ate half of it in the store).
The soft shell crab is my favorite! I added tobiko and jalapeño for texture and bite. My husband got the zesty salmon, and we traded halves. I definitely liked the flavor and texture of mine more. I think the zesty salmon was missing the zest part.
I was a little disappointed that the spam jalapeño masubi was only one, if you order from other places you normally get two...
Other than that, you probably only need to order just the sushi burrito because I was very hungry, and wasn't able to finish it because I was partially full from the chicken...
