If you are a foodie, experienced diner or Italian, this place is a hard pass. My first mistake was neglecting to preview the menu before going. Basic items you find in a pizza parlor. Chicken franchaise, piccata , rollatini and tons of pasta which is not even home made. If you're looking for veal chops, ossuboca, imported cheese home made pasta sambuca Italian cheesecake or service, then go elsewhere. Btw it's not inexpensive at $28 a fish or meat entree. I ordered 4 different plates including the piccata. First to arrive was what the very irritable Anna,( the owners sister )said was bruschetta. It was a pc of toasted bread with some dried up red sauce on it. Lol. Certainly not bruschetta. Lobster ravioli were not homemade, did not contain any lobster, and the sauce tasted like chef boyardee spaghetti o's. I'm not exaggerating either. Piccata was void of capers .I was told they only did capers on request lol. I requested but was told they didn't have any. I ordered some Pellegrino which was plopped on my table without a glass. Waited about 10 minutes finally alerted the only other waiter that I needed help. I asked for a glass and some lime. Was told they don't carry limes lol. Service was painfully slow. Food was bland and tasteless without a piece of garlic in sight. One dish was Soo bitter, my eyes literally squinted. I was about to tell Anna when I heard her yelling at and berating a couple at another table who didn't like their dish!!!It got so bad I thought the police would end up coming. She was yelling and screaming that they should stay home and cook, that they were trying to get something for free, they had eaten too much bread lol and she hated people like them!!I decided to stay quiet, had my dishes wrapped up( and fed them to my dogs when I got home). Decided to go for broke since this turned out to be dinner and a show... so I ordered desert. Nothing impressive.I asked if the tiramisu was made w espresso (after the capers and lime situation lol) Anna said, "yes but you can barely taste it". She was correct. From appetizers to Cappuccino this was a fail.I had read great reviews but now realize none had Italian names lol. Seems they've been around awhile so I'm wondering WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED ?! Did they lose their chef along w their staff(help wanted sign in window). To the couple at the other table, anyone reading, and a reminder to myself, for truly authentic Italian and the dining experience you deserve: Osteria Rustica in Bunnell (believe it or not!). You will not be disappointed Teresa...
Read moreShockingly horrible experience! Saw many mixed reviews on this establishment but also saw an add that was inviting. I was looking for a quaint authentic Italian cuisine where I could take a colleague to dinner. Our experience was a complete repeat of the negative reviews I have read. I can only guess the positive reviews are either from their friends or people who do not have taste buds nor know what real Italian food should taste like. Our waitress was Anna. She was rather pushy and rushing us to order. Everything we asked for they were out of. Their so called "Imported" items were basic everyday grocery store items. Meals lacked some of the basic ingredients that should have been present. They must have been out of garlic because not one dish had garlic present. Flavor of sauce tasted like it came out of a can. I've had much better cafeteria food in a hospital, really. Our appetizers were not authentic and lacked flavor. We had hoped the entree would be acceptable at the least, but far from it. The waitress Anna begins bringing items from the kitchen telling us to try to "fix" it. I refused to cook my own meal and sent it back to the kitchen. Anna began screaming and yelling at us, stating out food tastes bad because we drank too much and ate too much bread! I was drinking sparkling water. My guest had one glass of wine which was some $6 brand that they were selling for $45 a bottle. Anna continued with her scene and would not leave my table when I asked her to. Finally the chef called her into the kitchen. She came back to our table stating everyone "tasted" my meal and it was good. I refused it and she really lost her mind. She screamed and yelled accusing us of wanting a free meal and she really became so out of hand that I began to call the police. Again the chef came out and sent her to the kitchen. I paid the entire bill and left hungry because no part of the meal was edible. I'm am completely shocked! I can't believe any establishment would allow an employee to remain working there with such abusive customer service. It was truly an abusive experience! This is Absolutely an honest review. I've never been here before and will NEVER return. I highly suggest all you hard working people, read ALL of the negative reviews. And keep in mind, just because someone is from Italy, doesn't mean they can cook. If you love chefboyrdee in the can, you might like this food. If you like being screamed at, you might like the service. If you want quality,...
Read moreOk. My reviews....
It took within possibly a total of realistically 5 or 7 mins of me being greeted and sat. Sat me in the corner, which I absolutely did not mind. Me having dinner by myself, I don't mind.
Another few minutes go by and still no server has greeted me. I studied the menu and have decided what I would like, bout to give up when I was finally greeted. Not mad just getting hungry. I was ready for everything, app and entree, he wasn't prepared but he said he'll remember I said I don't mind waiting for you to come back. Anyways, gave my order and waited. I recieved a ceaser salad, which was so so, not bad. Bread was tasty, I enjoyed the bruschetta piece that came with it. Then I waited. Then the entree came out. He said was everything all set, I said so are you out of the app I ordered? He looked at his notes and I said you didn't write it down remember, I said with a smile. He apologized, I was alright, the eggplant rollatini was good enough. Came with literal pasta and marinara sauce on a separate plate. It was cute. Got almost halfway through my meal when I noticed a roach just hanging out with me on the wall next to me. (Me being in the corner and all) I was grossed out at first but brushed it away with a different napkin. Then was about to just continue eating when I saw more literally next to me. Ok, I'm done at this point. I didn't want to be that girl, but was a bit more than I anticipated. I did my best to not be too loud when I told the server. He brought the bill, just took off my drink not the food I clearly did not finish nor wanted to take with me. Oh well. Won't be back after the first time. The entree itself didn't taste bad just grossed out over the many roaches hanging out with...
