I have been eating at BJ’s restaurant for over 10 years. This year in particular, the service and meal quality have been on the steady decline. I have seen the prices of meals go up and the meal being on the decline. I always get the jambalaya rice most times. For some reason, the cooks never seem to get the ticket right on my order. I cannot have tomatoes but the tomatoes are always in my meal.
Customer Dietary needs should be welcomed and not frowned upon. The last meal I ordered was on the BJ’s app and delivery was through a third party. My meal was running late about 20 minutes past the time the text was sent to my phone. I called to know if it was still coming as I had a prior situation where meal never showed up. I spoke to Gintari the manager I believe and she explained they had no way of controlling/ contacting third parties after the meal left the restaurant. She was on the line when my meal came and I told her to give me a second to check it was cooked correctly. She proceeded to tell me that she did not have the time to wait for me to “pick apart” my meal to make sure it what cooked appropriately because she had 20 important guests in the restaurant. That was quite shocking to hear because I guess I am not so important.
I was also waiting for a refund for a prior order that was messed up. The MO even when I go to pick up myself is that I either wait for my meal to be made again or be issued a refund. This has happened severally and it’s so bad according to the manager that corporate has gotten involved in making refund decisions due to too many refunds being made on the same account or loyalty number. One would think some training or retraining would have taken place to make sure that meals are cooked appropriately. Even after changing to the hickory brisket burger, the temp is never cooked right, they always add cheese/ mayo to the order even when the tickets say otherwise and the server reads the ticket and says oh yeah, it shouldn’t be that way. Gintari made it sound like it was my fault for the tickets being read wrong on a regular basis. She offered to have a manager get in touch with me and it’s over 2 weeks and I still haven’t heard back.
It breaks my heart because they were my fave restaurant in town. I wish there was a different location as I would switch in a heartbeat to that location.I wish something could be done about the management and kitchen service. Starting off, we both had ordered drinks which mine was a bloody mary, which should be very easy to make but it got messed up (tasted like water) then when I asked them to fix it Instead of making me a new drink all they did was try to just add more stuff to the current one to try and make it better, which it did not help. It was still a horrible drink. Upon ordering our food and waiting over 45 minutes to receive it, both orders were incorrect. My wife's was the wrong meal, and my steak was very overcooked when I ordered it medium, plus it was very dry. I asked for them to fix it, of which they said they would. My wife's came out after finding her order, but I waited over an hour to get the new steak. By that point we were ready to leave. When I told them that they asked me if I wanted it to go or what I wanted to do with the steak. I told them that I did not want to take the steak to go. Why would I they don't reheat very well. They said okay and took the steak, but then still proceeded to charge me for it. When I asked them about it, they said the steak was still made and prepared. I said, "Yeah, but I didn't even get to eat it with the rest of my food." I would have had to wait. My wife would have sat there with her food getting cold for an hour. While they cooked a medium-rare steak, which is very ridiculous. Anyway, I left there with the manager and none of the other staff wanted to do anything about it. I would not recommend this place. The food is not very good, it's very plain. Obviously, they don't have cooks that know what they're doing. One thing I would say was our waiter was very nice and was eager to try to help if it wasn't for his management and other staff holding him back I think he would have done a lot more. Read moreI had dinner here on Father's Day and while the food was good, the service was horrible. After being seated immediately, it took about 15 minutes for our waitress, Alyssia, to get to our table, another 15 minutes to get our drink order and another 5 to get our food order into the system. While this was going on, another table came in and got water to their table immediately by a different waitress and our waitress decided to take the food order of a table that came in after we did.
I did complain about this to someone handing out promo items, who I took to be a manager, but since she didn't return at the end of our meal to see how things went when we were clearly annoyed, I will need to assume that she wasn't a manager or simply didn't want to send one over.
At no time did our waitress ask us about drink refills. In fact, she passed directly in front of our table 4 times before she asked whether I wanted a refill on the water.
Finally, it took 3 tries to actually get our check correct. I will grant you that we asked to split the check but we did clearly tell her this before we even ordered since we did have 15 minutes to think about it before she came to our table. She blamed a new computer system.
I might have tried to talked to a manager before I left but after being in the restaurant for a half hour at the beginning of the meal, we just wanted to get out of the place,
I know that management might reply to my review by saying that it was Father's Day but I will say that this isn't my problem. You know that it is a holiday and should be manning accordingly. On the new computer system, I would again say that this isn't my problem. This would is either a training issue or a system issue.
