My family was in town for my neices graduation and a family members birthday. Since her birthday is May 5th we assumed most restaurants would be packed and we were a party of 12, so we called a day ahead to be sure we could reserve space.
The initial call (5/4/24)went well and they said they’d have a event coordinator call to confirm the next day.
Fast forward to the next day and I did receive a call around 1030am confirming our reservation time.
We had a small child with us and due to some tantrums on the way we were going to be lat. so I called in and let them know we were running about 15-20 minutes late and confirmed they could hold our reservation. The lady confirmed that we’d be fine.
We arrived and are told by the outside hostess that we were good, but it would better to have us there fully as a group before entering the main place, ( we were in different cars and arrived about 5 minutes apart).
We informed the outside hostess that we were all present, and she had us follow her to the inside hostess to be lead to our seats. (We thought).
However, when she get to that hostess stand the hostess rudely says she has no reservation for us and that she just set a 15 top right before we were brought in, and insisted I didn’t make the reservation nor did I talk to anyone and she had no idea why lady I spoke to, I showed her my proof and phone logs . She insisted I was wrong and said we would need to wait 30-45 minutes. Which was frustrating since we were told by the outside host we were good upon arrival 10 minutes earlier.
I went around in circles with the hostess even showing her my call logs proving they called that morning to confirm til I asked her to please just get a manager .
The manager came and was very cool about it ; said he had no idea what hostess called me or confirmed; however, after showing him the correspondence he told me he could sit half our party but the rest would have to wait for two other parties to finish eating then they can get us in.
So calling to reserve a spot was meaningless and we now had a very hungry 3 year old in a packed restaurant with no where to sit and wait.
Once we did sit down service was very slow as they had 1 waiter Ryan (who for the record did a phenomenal job considering the circumstances); waiting on, not only our 12 top, but a 8 top and about 5 other 4 top tables at the same time . Like I said he was rushing around and did great considering.
It’s a fun get together spot for small parties, making a reservation is a waste of time, they are understaffed, and the hostesses need customer service training.
Food was good though, though our waiter forgot one persons order, and I had to wait about 30 minutes to get the sauce for my chicken so my food was cold by time it came; I think that part was due to the server being overwhelmed. Don’t expect good or timely service. And the inside hostess is unnecessarily hostile and rude . Like I said before they need customer...

Read moreI do feel like this was not a great experience for $230. My personal food was not good and definitely didn’t look like the photo which of course sometimes food doesn’t match the menu photo. My shrimp -which in my opinion it’s hard to cook shrimp wrong, but my shrimp was dry. My steak was not cooked correctly- it was tough. My broccoli was OK. I did order clam chowder for all of us which I did not like it was very thin and didn’t have a lot of flavor. My daughter ordered the artichoke dip and chips and the family did like that, nobody at my party of six really loved what they got and also this place is a little crazy about you getting a card you pay $25 for a card and then in 24 hours you get that $25 credit available and you can use it at a bunch of the restaurants anywhere but I don’t live in a place with a Joe’s crab shack anywhere in the state or really any of the other restaurants, I signed up for the membership, and when she came back to the table, she was like shocked that I sign up and didn’t wait for her which she did not mention waiting for her so I told her I could sign up with a different account in a few minutes a man came up to the table with a bill for $25 a card with its own number and had already signed me up which I thought was weird anyways then they gave me a list of where the restaurants were and I ate dinner and then rescinded the card. I told them I didn’t want it. So that part of the experience was weird overall, this place is in a great location right in the ocean at the end of the dock. It was super windy, rainy but still beautiful park. It is very hard at this area although they have their own lot where you pay for parking the main factor for me is the food and we didn’t feel great after we ate we didn’t get any thing, but none of us felt great and none of us liked their food. I will also add that restaurants around this one had an hour wait time this one we could walk right in. And last thing they did have a photographer that they allowed walk around and take your picture and the pictures were $20 for the first one $30 for both which I actually...
