Visiting Atlanta. First time coming to this Jeni's in (neighboring) Decatur.

Said, "uh.. still trying it out" after a long delay of me doing nothing. The person behind the counter seemed a bit annoyed, which surprised me. Eventually understood I needed time to decide what I was doing / getting.

I sampled about 3 flavors. Darkest chocolate, brown sugar almond brittle, and Texas sheet cake. Each time the young lady seemed (considerably more) annoyed bc I was giving long pauses in between, and seemed unsure of everything.

Finally got asked to decide after a long delay, and I guess there was a line forming behind me. I don't understand why not just switch to them as I was just running around sampling flavors with naught a care in the world, but I guess it's whatever. The wording actually was like "You can get the standard cup, that's the smallest one. So you can try 2. So did you like the chocolate flavors of those ones?" So not too rude, but putting unduly pressure on me, so felt like I was being put on the spot the same.

Like I say, it's all just whatever to me. I decided to go w/ the Standard Cup because that's what I felt like, I guess. Also their cheapest option looks like, though at 7$ plus taxes and (lack of) tip, I feel that's pushing it a bit. But whatever, it's my birth-week so I try to put on a not-altogether dark smile, and have a good(ish) time.

So the Standard size, though I wasn't much feeling it I had that w/ the Darkest Chocolate & Texas Sheet Cake. Not really sure what/why I was doing what I was doing. I mean the flavors and/or taste weren't even halfway to the roof. And I had half of it, I guess I liked the Texas SC slightly more, but it was definitely a toss-up. I didn't really understand this Jeni's overall, TBH.

So I walked a little bit outside in the narrow streets under the hot summer sun, or I tried to anyway. I didn't get far but till the central courtyard, then I realized I was dancing in the shade and worrying about that overmuch rather than relaxing or tasting whatever I'd gotten, so I abandoned that idea after a while. Headed back inside the store, grabbed a round marble table with a seat for two, then waited as someone else helped me finish the rest.

Overall, great? Nah, not really.

Would I come back again? Nope, not unless they paid me to.

I guess ok spot, I feel like I'm down with Jeni's, but for some reason this location wasn't really my vibe, and I wasn't really feeling it. It is what it...

Prepare your taste buds for a journey of pure joy! I recently had the pleasure of indulging in the most divine ice cream experience at this exceptional ice cream parlor. From the very first scoop, it was evident that I had discovered a hidden gem in the world of frozen treats.

Let's start with the star of the show – the ice cream itself. Creamy, luscious, and velvety smooth, each spoonful of this heavenly creation transported me to dessert paradise. The wide selection of flavors was mind-boggling, ranging from classic favorites like chocolate and vanilla to unique and innovative concoctions that left me in awe. Whether you prefer fruity delights, rich and decadent flavors, or playful combinations, this place has it all!

What truly sets this establishment apart is their dedication to using high-quality ingredients. Every bite is a testament to the craftsmanship and passion that goes into creating these frozen delights. The flavors are delicate and perfectly balanced, with nothing overpowering or artificial. It's evident that they take pride in creating authentic, homemade ice cream that delights the senses and leaves you craving more.

But it doesn't stop there. The presentation is an absolute work of art. Each scoop is meticulously placed in a cone or cup, served with a smile and attention to detail. The vibrant colors and enticing swirls add to the overall experience, making it as visually pleasing as it is flavorful.

The ambiance of the parlor is enchanting. Whether you choose to enjoy your ice cream in their cozy indoor seating area or opt for a leisurely stroll outside, the atmosphere is inviting and delightful. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always ready to answer questions and offer samples of their latest creations.

The value for money here is exceptional. The portion sizes are generous, guaranteeing a satisfying experience without breaking the bank. In fact, I found myself happily surprised by the affordability of such a quality ice cream selection.

To summarize, if you are a true ice cream aficionado or simply enjoy the pleasures of icy, sweet indulgence, you owe yourself a visit to this heavenly ice cream parlor. The outstanding quality, wide variety of flavors, and overall delightful experience will leave you with everlasting memories and a newfound love for the art of ice cream making. Don't wait another moment – treat yourself and explore the wonders of this...

I am 100% a Jeni's fan, and I think you can't go wrong with any flavor or any location, but I wanted to write a bit about this location in Decature. The dining room is the largest of the three locations in Atlanta, and there are many outdoor tables, many/most with umbrellas. It's also right on the square downtown, which makes for a fun, relaxed atmosphere. If you're in the area and already have parking paid for, you should stop by!

Jeni's has a list of traditional flavors it offers consistently, but there's also a list of seasonal, limited edition flavors that are rotated out. Try everything you want, but just know that you might find a favorite that will only be around for a summer! (Such is my own fate.) My current favorites (summer 2016) are:

Sun-popped corn, which tastes like butter Atlantic Beach Pie, which has an interesting but amazing flavor combo of saltines and lemon Savannah Buttermint, which is basically after dinner mints in ice cream form Sweet cream biscuits and peach jam, which is summer in a cone

If you're more of the chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry type, there are flavors for you, too, but Jeni's always puts a spin on the usual favorites.

Enjoy your ice cream, though it's kind of...
