Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Deerfield Township

First off, the person in the drive-through on the evening of Friday 1/5/24 was simply LOVELY and truly a breath of fresh air. I've gone to various Popeyes for years and years, and this was the friendliest person I have EVER encountered. They also gave me plenty of sauce, which is frankly a miracle based on my past experiences with Popeyes employees.

With that being said, the food was bad here in relation to all Popeyes I've been to. Out of 3 chicken fingers, only one was an actual chicken finger, and the other two were weird shriveled skinny things comprised of mostly breading. This does happen from time to time at various locations, but these just seemed like something that simply shouldn't be sent out.

Additionally I was a bit nauseated later that evening and I think it may be because this location is not changing out or cleaning their fryers frequently enough. Or maybe the food was just old. The biscuit did not taste fresh, and even the red beans and rice seemed to be missing flavor (which is an absolute first for me). It has been probably six months since I visited any Popeyes, so maybe the recipe has been changed.

My mobile order was ready on time and the drive-through was not stacked.

Found out this place was opening up not too far from me went first time service was great! Ever since the place has gone horribly wrong with customer service, and accuracy on orders being placed. Last time I went I ordered a 3 piece combo white meat mild with fries and additional biscuit and a side order of their popcorn shrimp. Neither fries or biscuit was put in my order so I had to turn around and come back. Then I come back they correct my order. I finally get home to find out my chicken is spicy instead of mild like I asked. Called was told I’d have my order credited to me okay fine. I go today and my credit was not In the book the manager tells me there’s a lot of scammers but he’ll honor it. This guy honors my order by giving me 10 fries max in my box a cup of pop corn shrimp thats probably not even a quarter of how much I should have gotten honestly. This place will not get one dollar from me again. They didn’t even have lids for cups in the lobby. So disappointed. I even placed a second order for my wife that was also a 3 piece combo being white meat and they gave me the complete opposite!! I find little to no value coming to the restaurant anymore just when I thought I found a Popeyes that would get it right. It would of been 2 stars until I open...

I went in to place a carry out order instead of drive thru, thought it might be quicker and was. They had a 2 can dine special for $11.99 which was 5 pieces of chicken, 2 individual sides and 2 biscuits. The cashier was friendly, sides were great, chicken part good and part not, the crunchy skin is one thing but two pieces out of 5 tasted like either had been sitting and dropped in fryer again or something because you could almost break your tooth on several spots, literally had to take part out of my mouth, yuck, looses appeal after 3 times doing so when you feel like you just bit into something that's not good due to how hard it was, and I have real teeth, all of them so that didn't play a role but other pieces were good, not dry. I also used restroom while there and it was clean, stocked. I also tried the strawberry pie but to me it tasted like full of strawberry jam and had hoped for little more fresh strawberry taste but some might like that since that comes down to personal preference but I wouldn't get that again instead if I want little sweet treat I'll stick to the apple.
