If I could give 0 stars I would but Alas I cannot, O what a terrible Web we weave my experience here though not terribly bad was not a good experience whatsoever. Now I've been going to Ted's since like 1999 and though they started off really good over the years their food has been kind of going downhill you could only find a few selective items of foods that are even decent enough but that is a different sort of review I'm here to talk about my experience that I had at this Ted's yesterday, after a long hard shift at work( I to work customer service) I ordered my meal to go at 4:10pm. I was told that my meal would be ready at 4:35pm. What I ordered was quite simple and I do suggest that if anybody ever goes to Ted's cafe besides the tortillas to Definitely try the best Mexican tacos one of the few items that are still pretty good there, I had ordered the combination best Mexican tacos although when I had to go back and ask the blonde girl at the to go counter she would beg to differ. 1st of all.... I have to say I'm very disappointed with the inconsistency from store to store if all Ted's are the same why is there proportion size completely different from one store to the other, case in point if you order your to go meal from here and if you get the set up you only get 2 tortillas that's right 2,so of course you're gonna have to add more because 2 is really ridiculous, I just called the teds off of Northwest 63rd The 1st teds, I asked a simple question that when you get a meal and you get your set up how many tortillas does it normally come with she basically told me it was 4 tortillas per person. So that was inconsistency number one and I feel like I've been lied to sure management can tell me that each store has a set of different policies blah blah blah it should all be the same no matter where you go.Number 2 my meal was supposed 2 be ready by 4:35pm i didn't get my meal until 4:45pm.the blonde togo girl, I guess she was training someone I'm not entirely sure but instead of just packaging mine because i was the only one up there( aside from the Elderly couple that just ordered as I arrived) ready to pick up my order at the time they could a packed my order then given me my food so that i could be on my way and then pack the rest of everybody's but instead i had to wait an additional 10 minutes while she packed everybody's to go order first ,geeze that's awful nice of me. I will admit for the additional time that I had to wait I did not tip I deemed it necessary not to, now the picture attached was the large size of the best Mexican tacos WTF is this crapp I had to Marco Polo a friend to show her . This was not the diet size this was the regular size . The rice that I received because I had gotten double rice look like basically one scoop of rice I had wish I'd taken a picture of that but I was getting disappointed with the proportion that they gave me for nearly $14 now I did go back and asked the lady keep in mind I worked like 11 hours that day so I'm tired my feet are killing me not thinking straight I did think it was weird when she did open the best Mexican tacos when I saw that I'm like that's not right I did leave the store and I did have to come back and when I asked the lady I thought I ordered the combination she said no but I don't know if I can believe that because I know what I did say. and that proportion to me looks like they meant to add the chicken but they didn't I could be wrong since the store only does give 2 tortillas for a set up for a to go order they might just be making their portions less to save the cost or the store overhead. I guess the main question is that everybody would ask... is it worth going to? If you wanna risk it go ahead I just would not I'm personally not gonna go back to this location very disappointed they need to have portion size figured out not to mention they need to figure out the meaning of...
Read moreI have always loved Ted's, and have visited ones in OKC, Norman, Edmond, and now Del City. Norman, Edmond, and OKC are amazing, but I was disappointed in the Del City location. We ordered a party pack of Fajitas for 5 to take home, as we have done at other locations several times before, but when I arrived to pick up my order, I had to wait for a bit to be helped (this is not the complaint, I'm patient and understand restaurant life, lol). The manager finally came over and asked if I needed help, then went back into the to-go area opening. He hollered back my name and that I was here for my pickup. A blonde lady then poked her head out and told me she was packing it up right then. She then disappeared for a couple of minutes and returned with a paper bag. I then noticed that she was distracted by a video call she was on with who I can only assume to be her significant other. She propped her phone up on a shelf and she and the gentleman on the screen were having a conversation while she distractedly and slowly packed my order. While I was waiting, I decided I wanted to order my husband and me 2 to-go margaritas, but I had to go to the host stand to ask someone to take my order. The manager came over and did that as well. He told the to-go lady that I had ordered them as well, and she said she would get them. I waited a little while longer, and she was still on the video call and had not gotten my drinks, nor was my order ready. The manager finally came back out with my drinks, and the lady had my order ready and explained what was in each bag, I was finally able to leave. I am a patient person and understand that sometimes we need to take a call during work to handle business, but the conversation was very casual, and she was not performing her duties as she should have been. The proof came when I got home and realized she had only packed 8 tortillas. Total. On an order meant to feed 5 people. Both other locations I have ordered this from have packed tortillas not only for the fajitas, but also some to go with the chips and salsa as well. She also packed our setup (cheese, sour cream, Pico, guac) on the bottom, which melted the cheese and sour cream, browned the guacamole, and made the Pico de gallo warm and mushy. When we opened the fajita pan, we found there to be plenty of peppers and onions, but not enough meat to go around. It was still delicious as always, and the manager (who had to initiate my pickup due to the to-go lady being on her video call) was very nice and outgoing. He got my drink order (to-go margaritas) and walked them to my truck for me. Aside from the manager and his amazing attitude, this visit was a disappointment. I would rather drive the extra 20 minutes to visit the Norman location than...
Read moreI recently visited Ted's Cafe Escondido and had a fantastic dining experience. The lively, vibrant atmosphere immediately made me feel welcome, with its traditional Mexican decor adding a festive touch.
I started with their taco nachos, which were an absolute hit. The nachos were perfectly crisp, generously topped with seasoned beef, melted cheese, fresh jalapeños, and a dollop of sour cream, making each bite a delight.
For the main course, I decided to try the enchiladas, which were a true highlight of the meal. The enchiladas were bursting with rich, authentic flavors, and the tender, marinated meat paired perfectly with the savory sauce.
Of course, I couldn't resist sampling a few other items. The complimentary chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful, and the queso was creamy and satisfying. The fresh, in-house made tortillas added an extra touch of authenticity to the meal, making it even more enjoyable.
The service was outstanding. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the staff remained friendly, attentive, and efficient. My food arrived promptly, and the servers made sure I had everything I needed throughout the meal.
To top it all off, the complimentary sopapillas at the end of the meal were a sweet and delightful treat, perfectly capping off an already fantastic dining experience.
While there was a bit of a wait to be seated, it was well worth it. Ted's Cafe Escondido has quickly become one of my favorite spots for delicious Mexican cuisine, and I look forward to...
