Our visit tonight was a bad experience. We ordered the Sizzling Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp dinners & hot boneless wings. Unfortunately, upon arrival of the dinners without the appetizer - my husband's food was eatable, my food was cold and when the appetizer arrived it was also cold. Our server, Aazaia was informed & she apologized & said she would have the manager come out. She had to go to the Mgr's door twice. By the time the mgr, possibly she was Julie Johnson (according to the mgr on duty - name at the entry door) came to us, my husband had completed his dinner. The Mgr asked what was the problem & I informed as previously stated, she asked me "what did I want her to do?" Unfortunately, I asked for my dinner to be prepared to go - the Mgr. agreed. When she returned with my dinner & appetizer, I asked her if she could provide a courtesy of some sort, say a discount because of the issue and the huge wait? Besides I was there to dine in. Her managerial skills were totally absent, her response was in a negative tone "well you asked for your dinner to go." At that point, I knew she didn't have a clue about managerial skill sets. I then kindly asked for the check. Aazaia provided us check, we paid it and left a gratuity for Aazaia.
We have in the past visited this location (Brandywine Commons, Rocky Run Dr) during the day, which I mentioned to Julia Johnson, I stated there is a server by the name of Sam, she is very good, hard working and due to short staffing she had been alone, she does a awesome job - do you know Julie responded "I know who you are talking about, and she doesn't do all the serving by herself." As a manager, what an awful thing to say to the customer that has witnessed Sam's professionalism & was providing kudos. This manager doesn't set a good example any of the staff there to follow🥴.
I may have to take the drive to Churchman's Rd location, where the service is great and management staff visit your table with a smile just to check on...
Read moreI went to Applebee’s March 28th at 11pm. We got a notification at 11:23 saying they couldn’t seat us. I went in to clarify with the host, he said don’t worry about it he’d sit me. I went to go get my friends from the car (as we were waiting in the car because Covid prevented indoor waited seating). We all came in to wait for the host to sit us. The manager came out from the back (a blonde haired lady) and asked if there was anything wrong. I explained there was nothing wrong, we were waiting for the host to sit us. She explained that the host made an error because he thought it closed at 2 but it closed at 12 today so he couldn’t sit us. I explained to her we were waiting from 11 and asked since there was an error due to them, would we be able to get any compensation or anything for our troubles ( I wasn’t nasty to her or anything.) Literally from that point, she just became really rude. Nastily, she asked if “we wanted to get money from the store because that’s what compensation was.” I told her “No, but you admitted that your staff messed up so, is there a coupon or anything that you can give us because you guys had us waiting because of an error of your staff member .” From that point it just escalated quickly on her part, she told me to get out of her restaurant and threatened to call the cops on us... I was shocked at how fast she escalated things in our normal conversation. It came across as really unprofessional and definitely not something you do if you work in the service industry. This was ridiculous, but as a black woman in this climate, threatening to call the cops on me over an error on your part is quite scary to me (especially when I didn’t threaten you or come to you disrespectfully at all.) I will not be going here again. The host was nice about it, Im sure he was just told by the manager not to sit me. I just wish the manager was more professional and recognized the error of her team instead of being a “Karen” and threatening to...
Read moreComing in the young hostess seated us at a table due to us needing handicap accessibility, she proceeded to seat us within inches of another family ( no room to even pull chair out to sit) asked if we can sit a table over she said no because it would mean having another server SMH. This was the beginning of a not enjoyable APPLEBEE'S experience. Iyania D. Our passive aggressive server in Wilmington DE. Location took our drink and appetizer order. After waiting 30 mins with just two waters and a Pepsi , no napkins no utensils out comes out main course from some totally different people. Placing our food swiftly. We have our meal with no utensils no napkins and no appetizers. We asked for them and waited another 15 mins before Iyania D. went to get our utensils straws and appetizers, which did not come back until another 15 mins later... To say the least me and my family will not be returning. After receiving it appetizers with having our main course for at least 30 mins mu husband ate his first piece of chicken and it wasn't cooked properly. This turned into so much waiting and no one (manager, supervisor etc...) came to the table to see about us. Our server apologized and brought out a new order of wings that also needed to be cooked longer once we got home. I am so upset with this whole experience. There were two other parties sitting across from us whom experienced similar issues. This is unacceptable and really needs to be looked into. Undercooked chicken is something you just don't play with. Here's is what this chicken looked like. My husband didn't notice until finished this piece we all were a bit hungry. Iyania D. Did not ask if we needed anything else she was very impatient in waiting to see if we were okay she had a very pleasant attitude but underneath of that attitude it seemed like she had one We were very uncomfortable and I would not recommend anyone to visit this particular Applebee's...
