Beg For More Delray is such a great hidden little gem! An “Izakaya” is often times referred to as a Japanese pub, and they are typically compared to British/Irish pubs. It’s a smaller more intimate place, which makes it perfect first dates, casual friend meet-ups, or just a chill/relaxing/reflective meal by yourself. It’s actually decorated and very similar to how a lot of bars/pubs look in Japan and China. Overall, the atmosphere is great! I wouldn’t recommend it for a group over 15, because you’d be split up and taking over almost the entire venue...and that’s not cool/no fun for others. However, they do have some outside seating which is really enjoyable.
The food and menu is pretty amazing! They offer a variety of Asian inspired dishes. Most of the food is rooted in Japanese culture, but there’s also some traditional Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean dishes...or some unique fun and delicious twist on some of these traditional dishes. Since it’s considered an Izakaya, a lot of the dishes are smaller tapas-like plates, however, they do have full entrees and some pretty large dish selections. I recommend ordering family style and just letting everyone dig in. The sushi is phenomenal, and you can pair it with plenty other dishes to fill you up. Don’t be shy or conservative when ordering your food either! If you go out of your comfort-zone, you’re going to find some of the best food you’ve ever had. You also want to try and make it during 1 of their 2 Happy Hours for some prime food and drink specials.
They have 2 Happy Hours with some wonderful food and drink specials, which typically includes a “shot of the day.” The bar is stocked with some unique options that you definitely won’t find all over Palm Beach County. They have a lot of Asian beer, liquors, and great Sake! You’ll want to confirm the hours of the Early Happy Hour (4pm - 6pm?) and the Late Happy Hour (11pm-2am?) just to make sure they haven’t made any changes. Those times are pretty consistent, but they can be different if a large party or event is going on. I recommend just calling ahead and confirming. With that being said, they are open from 4pm-2am EVERYDAY! It’s perfect for a quick dinner and drinks, a chill happy hour with friends and colleagues, and/or a late night party spot/drunk grub spot.
Beg For More comes HIGHLY recommend by me! I’m a HUGE fan of this unique spot. It’s definitely a more “hidden gem” type of place, so try to spoil it! If you want to impress friends from out of town, have a really fun and authentic first date, or take your local friends somewhere fun and different..Beg For More is the place! Have fun! Be Safe!...
Read moreI have been coming to this restaurant for quite a while now, but never had this kind of poor and rude customer service. First we were looking through the menu and the waitress came and said,” what do you guys wanna drink?” We told her that we will have water for now, and still deciding what to order. She just stood next to us, having her arms crossed leaning on the table next to us which I think it’s really awkward and rushed. When we ordered, my friend told her repeatedly that he cannot have green onion or even the regular one in his fried rice. She confirmed twice with us. I ordered two slice beef skewers. Again, she confirmed it was two orders. My friend’s fried rice came first. She brought it to the table, put the plate in front of him and didn’t say one word. However, there’s green onions in there.. my friend tried to get her attention and wanted to tell her the order was wrong but since she was completely ignoring our table, so my friend had to walk to her and told her the order was wrong. I was trying to give her a benefit of a doubt maybe she is busy and by herself. A while later, my order came but it was only 1 when I ordered 2, again , I had to walk to her to tell her. Before I finished my sentence, she just cut me off and said , “ oh the other one is not ready yet. Yeah ok” with an attitude saying that. It made no sense when all the orders of the table except that ONE when I order the SAME THING. Even so she could have just told me that the other one is not ready when she brought it to us. She NEVER check on us, refill water or ask if everything is okay. During the meal, we notice she seems to be really nice to the people who orders alcohol. And even was taking shots with them. When she noticed that her inappropriate actions were being recorded and she was drinking AT WORK, she approached us and told us we are miserable people WITHOUT HER MASK ON. She encouraged us to not leave her a tip and write bad reviews. She even said that,” it’s okay I know the owner”. Not sure if they changed the owner or something because this place has never been like this. I work in hospitality industry. This is definitely NOT professional and POOR SERVICE. People like her should not work in hospitality because she clearly has no idea what that means. I recommend everyone to spend their hard earned money elsewhere! This sure will be...
Read moreIf the owner/manager reads this, maybe an allergen menu or item descriptions on the online menu would be very helpful. Several similar food places have markers for dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) to make things easier for staff & let people with those diets know they still have safe options as a potential customer. Pretty bad customer service over the phone. I'm placing a first-time order for delivery, but there are no descriptions or allergen info on many of their menu items, both on their main website and on door dash. I have dietary restrictions, so after trying to search online myself, I went ahead and called in. I had two questions: (1) what are your vegetable yakitoris dressed with, (2) what is the vegetable roll made of. From my experience, some places grill their vegetable yakitoris with sauces, sometimes with a soy base. Soy makes my skin flare up with rashes (sorry if TMI), soooo I definitely wanted to make sure that's not what I was signing up for. Anyway, the man on the phone keeps saying "what, what, I can't hear you." Okay, no problem restaurants get loud. I'm raising my voice more and more (no attitude, just speaking louder), and asking my first question about 4 or 5 times using different key words to see if that helps him make out what I'm saying. To shorten this story, in a 2 minute phone call, I'm given the wrong information (regarding allergies) , told I'm speaking too low when I'm actually raising my voice, and then told that he "doesn't have time to explain the entire menu for me." Y'all, I had 2 questions. On my final question, he refuses to answer, and spends about 30 seconds ranting/explaining why he doesn't have the time. Y'all....in that same amount of time he could have just answered the question. I literally have never had this kind of problem with any other restaurant before. It's not about him not being able to hear me, it's about his attitude and lack of professionalism. I checked the time on my phone...phone call was 2 min with the latter portion being him trying to tell me why he just doesn't have the time. 🙃 I feel like the man really had a long day, but for someone who's worked in service, that's no excuse for residual attitude. I'm just trying to make sure I don't have an...
