This was a disappointment. We came in on a Sunday for brunch before doing some shopping nearby. I had been recommended by a friend who lives in the neighborhood.
It wasn't very busy when we sat and yet somehow we got incredibly slow service. Our server was super nice and we enjoyed her company when we saw her, but overall felt slightly neglected/forgotten at times.
I ordered the biscuit breakfast sandwiches and was thoroughly disappointed. The chorizo sausage was tasty but that's about the end of positive news about this dish. The gravy was bland and the biscuits weren't nearly hot and flaky enough. In addition, I ordered it as a smothered sandwich (gravy all over the top of the biscuits) and was shocked when it came out in a wire basket with parchment paper. I had to use a fork and knife to eat, but kept stabbing holes in my parchment paper and struggling to cut the biscuits into bites. This disappointing dish did come with enough tater tots for 3 people and they were fine.
My friend got the breakfast pizza, which we both found to be boring and lacking in flavors.
My margarita was well made, and that gives me hope. I would definitely like to come back and try their normal menu and have a couple drinks. But I can say brunch isn't it here. Denver isn't the most food driven city, but we've got some great brunch spots, this isn't...
Read moreI heard good things about this place.
The vibe is great and the staff is great.
The food is pretty far from great. It’s undoubtedly reheated from frozen - from the slider meat, the tots, the cheesesteak, and onion rings.. all terribly frozen.
Even for bar food, it was unusually disappointing..
It’s surprising.. it shouldn’t be hard to get fresher ingredients. It’s only a 12 min walk to the nearest grocery store.
My recommendation is to eat before going or after you’ve had a bunch to drink.
There’s a nearby bar called the crypt that does it right; good vibes with fresh food. It’s not impossible and it’s not a hard fix.
Edit: Removing a star.. I actually got sick last night. I had the sliders on 4/23. I hadn’t eaten anything else all day; no breakfast or lunch. The slider meat looked very suspicious. I should have taken pics. I hope they...
Read moreHave tried to give this place a go against better judgement. Tried to call an order in tonight around 8:50 PM as yelp and the website so plainly told me I could. I live 50 feet from here, so I walked by with my dog as I tried.
Key word, tried. Called 3 times to no avail. Tried the other day to do the same. This place clearly cares so lightly about having a customer they cannot simply pick up the phone. Likely why I walk by to an empty restaurant more times than none. If I was management, I would be embarrassed.
The phone isn’t even set up for messages. It’s a recording of a message requiring an “access code to enter.” How does a restaurant not even have its phone set up properly. If you cannot trust an establishment to have good service, pick up a phone, or set up its phone properly… how could you trust it to make good...
