Everything about our experience here was ABSOLUTELY HUMILIATING and HORRIBLE! Their website says they are pet friendly but they are the complete opposite of this. I trusted what they announced on their website and brought my doodle. When I got there they said I couldn't be there with my dog and they guided me to their outdoor seating area. I assumed we would be sitting in the outside seating area where everyone else was, but instead they sat us on the street sidewalk, where they had 2 tables next to a homeless man that was doing chalk work on the sidewalk and yelling a whole bunch of slang. I didn't feel comfortable at all and was confused why we didn't sit in their outdoor seating area since at other restaurants they all have let us sit there. When they brought out the food, we saw an empty table inside the outdoor seating area so we moved our plates to sit inside. The waitress came out fast and started telling us we couldn't sit there because it was against Colorado law to have guests with dogs in their outdoor seating area. This seemed ridiculous to me so I told her this situation had never happened to me at other restaurants in CO. She was extremely rude and told us the 20+ places I have been to in Colorado didn't enforce the law but that Jelly did. She then tried forcing us to move back saying she would move our plates back and got her hands out to grab our plates from us. I told her I didn't want to move back and that I had lost my appetite from how they were treating us. I told her I couldn't eat the food anymore. She quickly snatched the food and we got up to leave. We couldn't believe how unprofessional they were. We stood at the corner of the street to figure out the new plans for breakfast and another of their waiters came out to start yelling at us that they had found accomodations for us and that we should be ashamed we ordered and not paying for the meals. It felt like he was trying to gaslight us when at the end of the day their accommodations were not very accomodating.
Anyway I called my husband on my drive back home and asked him if he knew about this colorado law that doesn't allow pets on outdoor seating areas. He looked it up and was as I had thought. They were completely BS'ing us about the whole dogs not being allowed in outdoor seating areas. They actually are and from what I had seen the layout requirements did accommodate for this. For anyone with dogs or without dogs, please don't come here, they are actually not dog friendly and are very unprofessional with how they treat customers or just normal people. Will not be coming to any of their...
Read moreI will start with the pro. Food is delicious and the only reason boyfriend and I have been back. Service was so-so first time but second time was a complete joke. Rude and pretentious.
I’m a server at a busy restaurant (boyfriend did restaurant management), so I understand. I don’t expect much when being served, just be a nice person. You don’t have to go above and beyond, just a simple hello, thank you, take care would be nice.
Server did not seem overwhelmed, it was one server plus bartender/barista on a very slow Wednesday morning. He had 2-3 two tops. Easy, slow morning so you would assume service would be fine.
Wrong….
Definitely the worst service boyfriend and I have received. Blows my mind. The guest is paying YOU. So in theory, you would want to try to be friendly / welcoming? Right??
The entire experience was just so awkward. He did a great job of making us feel like an inconvenience rather than someone putting money into his pockets. We are not a needy couple either.
It started when he sat us. Threw the silverware on the table, and walked away. Uh, okay??
After dropping off waters, “menus there”. Only gets worse…. A total of one sentence was spoken. “what can I get for you”. That is the last thing he said to us. Didn’t bother to even look up from his toast.
Dirty look when boyfriend wanted to put in an additional order for eggs. I guess we disrupted what he was doing?
Never checking back when food came, no refills, looking over at our table and avoiding us when done only to have the bartender prebus + cash us out.
The bartender did more. Poor dude did everything, ran our food + cold brew + cashing out.
If he was my coworker and it was tip sharing, I would be so ANGRY.
Honestly, wish we only left the mandatory 5% tip to the kitchen, but being a server I literally cannot stiff.
Bottom line, I just don’t think he cared. Advice…maybe find another job if you hate being around people? Don’t serve if you have preconceived notions of people or if you have zero human decency.
& this is why America is getting fed up with the tipping system. Expecting the guest to pay you 20%, and you do nothing. You are ruining it for hardworking servers.
It’s a shame because it is the best breakfast food in CO. Guess we will try the other location. Or maybe being rude&pretentious is the vibe at...
Read moreusually love this place. Have always had a good experience and the food is always decent (it’s standard brunch so wasn’t expecting five star). However today I took my girlfriend for her birthday brunch here because we have always had a solid experience. I believe they only had one server today as it’s tuesday and is probably slow so understandably he was busy taking care of people. No worries, my girlfriend and I are both servers so we understand. We get seated and are waiting for our server who seemed very nice and friendly. Another table is seated behind us in a booth since the server is busy I believe the main food runner older gentleman black glasses came to take our drink order and my whole perception of this place changed. Would not acknowledge us and acted cold as we ordered drinks, and even when we said thank you and were very polite was no response and cold demeanor. Okay no big deal we both work in the service industry and understand people have bad days as we do and are willing to overlook it. However when he served the table behind us his whole attitude changed! super friendly asking how they are what he can get for them. At this point we just ask for our check from the very nice server because the food runner was just plain rude and an frankly a jerk to us and obviously didn’t want us there. My girlfriend is a black women and usually I try not to read into it that much but a quick scan of the bad reviews from this place shows it’s not an isolated incident and many people have experienced something similar. The only reason I’m giving them 2 stars is because we have been treated so well by a couple employees. one was a younger dude with tattoos and gauges in his ears and black hair is always amazing and we appreciate it that. as well as i think her name is stephanie or steph or something she is awesome! as well as the host/waiter young women with tattoos who gives our dogs treats is a gem and all hardworking and deserve to be recognized. however this experience with the food runner with glasses left such a bitter taste in our mouths we probably won’t come back and it seems kinda apparent why he serves some people better than others. I still left a tip on the coffee and drink we had because the main server seemed friendly and cool and it wasn’t his fault his...
