Food is great but Karoake sucked. I had reserved a spot for my bday at 8:15pm. We got there five mins early and were told we had to wait for the group to leave, which was fine. No biggie. Fifteen mins they were “ready” BUT the space was still not clean. There was a puddle of water or whatever on the floor and on the coffee tables. It looked really dirty. The attendant seemed to look passed it when asked to clean it. We had to wait an additional 10 mins to show him where it and wipe it dry.
Then, we were shown how to work the new karaoke system, which was difficult because the staff did not know how to work it. We couldn’t sing half the time because WE had to figure out the system. The staff said we could sing whatever we wanted but we couldn’t because the original artist was still singing and most of the American music was not in there; no oldies. We called the attendant and he made it seem it was our fault as he showed us how to change the original to Karoake only to not work. How silly he felt.
The start of my bday night was sad and frustrating. To top it off- the drinks were so straight I didn’t get a buzz and I had five drinks. To add more frustration, as we left I spoke with the attendant and suggested they have a 30 min slot in between reservations to clean the room for the next person so it would smooth the transition and they blamed my group for being there early.
I went because my friends had a fun experience last time and i wanted to experience that but I wasn’t amused. I will not be recommending this place...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with my Sushi Bay 17 experience. My roommate decided to order some sushi tonight and I asked if she could get me some sashimi. Since my roommate was not at our apartment at the time of the delivery arriving I grabbed the food from the driver. The driver gave me two bags. I opened them both thinking one order was my roommates. The food was sitting in my apartment opened until my roommate got home and let me know it was not hers. By that time the delivery driver called and text me saying he gave me the wrong order. He had given me someone's $127.00 order. I called him back and let him know I had opened it due to not knowing if it was my order or not. He said he needed to come pick it back up and deliver to the right people. He came back to pick up the open order and asked to have the paper bag that came with it. I let him know I had already tossed it. The fact that Sushi Bay 17 went to go deliver this order to whoever ordered it is just wrong. Especially during a pandemic!! I feel awful for whoever spent $127.00 for some sushi that had been in a strangers apartment open for an extended period of time. When I called a manager to let them know this happened they did nothing about it. I will never feel comfortable eating at this place again after...
Read moreWe are from out of town. First time at Sushi Bay 17. Tuesday, about 7 pm. No other diners when we entered. We were invited to choose a table. A few people came in after. A couple of pick ups went out. Decor is simple and contemporary. Bathrooms are clean. Seating is for small parties. Chairs are not very comfortable. Benches are comfortable for smaller people. Sashimi deluxe was aesthetically pleasing. Freshness was edible. The pieces were, and the portion was quite small, especially for the price. My girlfriend had to eat again when we got home. Seafood udon was a good size. The broth had heat but no body or savory. The noodles weren't very tasty. The amount of seafood in it was spare. About 20% of the way through my soup, a hair appeared. The only time the hostess/server/cashier stopped by our table between taking our order and bringing us the bill was when I gestured to her and sent the soup back. She said "sorry about that" and asked if I would like another bowl or to reorder, but I had lost my appetite. No offer to comp another bowl of soup or a roll or something. My girlfriend's sashimi was gone quickly. Of course, we weren't charged for the udon. The hostess repeated "sorry about that" as we left. Won't...
