Where do I start...? I honestly for the first time Ever wanted to ask for my money back before the guy even got to my drink. I am an avid coffee drinker. I've had the same drink for over 6yrs. I ordered: a Lg iced Americano, half caf with their rose syrup. He starts by saying they can't do that. I said ok, how many shots are in a large? He said 1. I shockingly responded by repeating it back to him. Then he said there's 2. Again, I repeated in question, "there's only 2 shots in a large?" Then he said 4. So I said ok, I 2 shots regular & 2 shots decaf. He says, o ok. Rings me up, it's $5.40. (My drink is Never over $5. Usually it's under 4, occasionally a little over depending on where I go). I ask if they have a punch card, he says no but they have gift cards. I said that's ok, my drink has never been that much & I probably won't be back. He didn't say anything. As I'm paying with my card, they very clearly have an electronic star system, but I didn't say anything. Idk if it was this kids first day as a barista or what, but he took forever. There was no one in line when I ordered, only a few ppl sitting in the shop, & he still had 2 drinks before mine to make. I wait. He finally makes my drink & makes it hot & didn't put any syrup in it. I said it's supposed to be iced. He started to just grab a cup with ice & was going to dump the drink over it. The guy sitting at the bar clearly worked there. He said I can keep that drink too & he proceeds to tell the other young guy, in their language, to remake it for me. I still had to remind him to put the rose in it. My biggest frustration though is the outrageous price! I also was a little frustrated that their kitchen closes @ 2:30. Idk how this place possibly has such a great rating. It's extremely overpriced!!! I'd rather go to Thump if I want to pay over $5 for a drink. There are many Much better options very close by! Thankfully the other guy made my overall experience a tiny bit better, but overall I'm still very disappointed & won't...
Read moreI recently visited this coffee shop and had a pleasant experience overall, from the inviting atmosphere to the great coffee. However, I did have an unfortunate encounter with one of the baristas. While the rest of the team was friendly and accommodating, this one interaction stood out negatively. When we placed our order, the barista informed us that the Saigon coffee would take about 10 minutes, which we were perfectly fine with. As she began calling out orders, I noticed she called "23, 24, 25," and since my order was 26, I expected to be skipped since the coffee takes longer to prepare. But then she called out "26, 27." I went up to the counter, grabbed both coffees, and headed out. However, I noticed that the coffee cup had the number 5 written on it. Confused, I turned around and approached the barista, asking, "Hey, I just want to confirm that this is the Saigon coffee order number 26." She replied, "The coffee cup says 5." I understood that there might be a coding system for their orders, but I didn’t want to belittle her by pointing out the discrepancy. A colleague of hers took over from there. Throughout the interaction, I felt as though the barista was trying to make me feel foolish for a simple misunderstanding. While I take responsibility for not checking the number on the cup, I believe the tone could have been more respectful. Despite this experience, I plan to return because I genuinely enjoyed the coffee and the overall vibe. I would like to give this place a 5-star rating, but that belittling interaction was a bit...
Read moreAmazing specialty drinks (lattes and cappuccinos) with fantastic avocado toast. Absolutely worth the visit.
Order: Biscoff Baby (Biscoff cookie butter latte), Butter Maple Cappuccino, Avocado Toast, Grilled Cheese About: $33
Review: I’m honestly not quite sure where to start. Almost everything was amazing! They had a lot of great seating and it looks like in the summer they can open the bay doors to let in the air.
While I’m not sure they they always have what we ordered since their seasonal, after tasting a few things I think you’d have a hard time going wrong. The butter maple cappuccino had a wonderfully complex espresso flavor with bursts maple and I swear the Biscoff baby tasted like the perfect blend of cookie butter and espresso.
The food was slightly less consistent. The avocado toast was great, one of my favorite of all time actually, but the grilled cheese was disappointing. I’d actually call it a ham sandwich not a grilled cheese as there was more ham on it than cheese, and the game wasn’t great. Definitely skip it and stick with their other offerings.
While the grilled cheese was a miss, overall Doppio was amazing and definitely a place I...
