If I ever won the lottery I would give to Family promise . They have saved my family from homeless numerous times . I’m 64 years old raising my grandkids and god child that I made a promise to care for if her parents couldn’t. I was first introduced to family promise by a worker from arapahoe county after getting sick with Covid and had to quit my job with the schools . My first worker was Cindy who help me with part of rent e ever month and food cards , gas card . The next worker was Jeri who help me get a housing voucher and taught me how to save money for a raining day by paying my full rent for 4 months which allowed me to save money once I got my voucher . I really thought that was all the help I would get which was a lot . But nope my landlord didn’t want to renew my lease because he wanted to raise the rent again . After he increased my rent from 2200.00 to 2580.00 as soon as he found out I receive a section 8 voucher .They changed the laws in 2023 that the landlord can’t raise the rent again nor can they refuse to renew your lease because they want more rent . Well my landlord did he knew the laws stated his son was returning from college and needed his house back he knew the law . But the law didn’t stop him he rented the house and got 3200.00 a month . 3 weeks after I was told to move . I was taken him to court and needed proof of the monies that Family promised help me pay . I told Jeri what happened and that’s how I came to meet Emily , my angel my lifesaver . She immediately put me in an apartment or I would have to go into a shelter with 4 kids and I’m on oxygen and in Kidney failure. I’ve had so much trouble finding a home with section 8 because I can’t have stairs . Emily has help me so much , I finally found our new home and just waiting for minor repairs to pass inspection. I have kinship and they referred me to Family tree and Famiky tree gets funding straight from human service they help you one time . So please donate your money to Family promise they stay with your family and try very hard to help every family. No matter how many times . I had no control over my misfortune but thank god I had an anchor to help my family that’s...

Read moreStarted off good and comfortable. Was able to get a job and have an income, wasn't given any proper housing help, applications that applied to my situation. They had and still have a family who stays there who is creepy and they won't make them leave. I had to leave to a hotel and figure out my own life because they were close to kicking my family out even though there was other families doing horrendous things. They are very bias about who they help. I have an eviction and didn't get any help, another family there had an eviction and got an apartment. Even though I started working first and made more than the other family. My two friends who also were in the program for kicked south for no reason and are still struggling because this shelter couldn't do their job. All they did was give us free stuff and gift cards. That's not stable help....
