Good food, terrible customer service
Just to be clear, this review is regarding the service, not the food.
My best friends aunt passed away today and I’m out of town and couldn’t comfort her, so I chose to have a meal delivered to her. We have ordered from D.P. Dough to her house MULTIPLE times for girls nights in the last year, including less than one month ago with no issue.
Well, per usual I went on the website , placed the order. All was fine. I called my best friend to tell her not to worry about cooking for the evening and just to grieve and try to relax as food was on its way.
Well, 15 min later the phone rings with the employee saying the order had been canceled because the house was outside range. Seriously? Its 6 miles…6 miles and 15 minutes. What changed this time? Why all of a sudden is it too far? Your website took the order and the address and you have delivered their before. That’s your establishments responsibility. Just take the order. It even included a $6 tip which I would have gladly increased to make it worth while for the driver.
The employee literally suggested I just hang up and do the order through door dash instead..Really, man? Or how about just making the order and delivering it since it was already placed and paid for? In the time it took him to waste his time calling me, cancelling the order and suggesting I use a different company, he could have made the order and had his driver drop it off and even earn a few extra bucks for the trouble. Just terrible management.
My great grandfather and grandfather owned a pizzeria for a combined 60 years and would have NEVER canceled an order they had already accepted, let alone suggest that customer inconvenience themselves and repeat the order through an outside delivery company for more money. Times have really changed.
I’m not saying the employee was rude, because he wasn’t. He was nice about it, but that doesn’t change the fact that he took the order through his website, waited 15 min during prime dinner ordering time so that I had to redo the order through an outside company, pay way more and have the food arrive an hour late.
I did do the order cause it was my best friend and she was grieving a loss and I wanted her to cheer up.
Rest assured however, I will never eat here or order here again. Really disappointed. Just awful business management and...
Read moreIt’s more common now to complain about negative things then positive ones. with that being sad this is just so people have general information. I drive an extensive distance to come to DP dough. As in the past I’ve always had great service and excellent food. As of late the business has failed epically. One week ago I had a messed up order and the general manager offered me a free coupon/ punchcard for a free calzone my next visit. I showed up Monday to redeem the coupon/punchcard. The calzone I normally order is very straightforward. It’s an end zone with three added Toppings. Pepperoni, spinach and ricotta. This time They added mushrooms to my calzone. I am not medically allergic but they make me nauseous and vomit if I eat them. They were quick to make it correct and fix the situation. They offered me cookies to help compensate for the mistake. They were cookies that have been sitting there that were cold hard and unpleasant. So the new calzone Came out extremely fast. the steak, onions and cheese were cold. Very cold. The calzone was basically uncooked. At this point I asked for a refund. The gentleman with blue hair seemed baffled that someone would ask for a refund after what transpired. He then informed me that I would have to wait for the manager on duty to see what we could do. ( he was out making a delivery ) I explained the situation To the manager. He told me that that’s how calzones come out and that they are never cold. I guess there’s a first time for everything. The steak was colder than the beverage sitting next to it. He told me that I should seek food somewhere as he processed my refund. What kind of manager would say something like that. Hopefully they can fix the problem by reprimanding firing order molding that manager. but for now I will not be eating at this location. Maybe the general manager will reach out via email and apologize once more for his staff’s rudeness. I would love to give him his place five stars two months ago...
Read moreI love DP Dough but I've had a few major problems with this branch. Most recently, I ordered 2 zones and they said my order would take 45 minutes (no complaints there). 45 minutes goes by and no call. An hour goes by and no call. My phone dies after 65 minutes and so I wait on my couch for a knock at the door. There was no knock. It's later at night and so after another 30 minutes, I fall asleep. The next day when my phone is charged I turn my phone on and listen to the message from the delivery guy and said that he was downstairs waiting for me (I live in an apartment). Why couldn't he have come upstairs and knocked on my door? It's not like I didn't provide my apartment number. The next day I call the DP Dough branch and they say they'll call back later when the manager is there to resolve the conflict. I don't receive a call. I call later that night and they said "our manager won't be in till Monday so I'll leave your number here and he will give you a call." Yet again I don't get a call on Monday. So I call back on Tuesday and the manager says "sorry there's nothing I can do for you, we tried." If there was nothing they could do for me why wouldn't they just say that the first time I called or at least get back to me one of the other three times I tried calling? Also, I don't tolerate laziness, why couldn't the delivery guy take the elevator to my apartment and knock on the door?
The other couple times I have had DP Dough from THIS BRANCH weren't impressive either. I have specifically asked for the marinara sauce and got sour creme, I have received my food late every time, and I have received the wrong order.
Overall I have had bad experiences with this branch and will not use them again. The next time I want a cal zone delivered to me I am definitely going to with Cosmo's instead. I would recommend the same for...
