*9/12/16 - I am editing my review after my auto-renewal experience. I still stand by the fact that this is a great gym, great workout, and great instructors. Their auto-renewal feature is terrible.
I checked my credit card account and had been charged for an auto-renewal ($99 for 8 visits in 1 month). I called to ask them to remove the charge, as I didn't agree or sign up for this and was still debating about which package I wanted to get the next month. A very kind OTF employee called me back to inform me that, when I signed initial paperwork, I agreed to a 30 day cancellation notice (that I clearly wasn't aware of). So there was no way to get my $99 back and now I will be forced to attend 8 sessions this month. Again, she was very kind about the whole thing and gave me "options" that weren't really options...as in, none of the options included removing this charge, or even stretching out the charge to the 4 classes a month package for 2 months and include what I'd already paid. No matter what I had to pay the $99.
She was very nice about it, but I felt scammed. After the 8 visits I'll be forced to go to this month, I probably won't be back. Learn from my mistake and make sure you read the fine print.
*Initial Review: 5 stars for the actual gym I'm new to OTF - had my first class about a month ago. OTF Uptown is a newer studio and moved about 1 block from where we lived, so I definitely wanted to give it a try.
I've had a great experience here so far - I've been to a total of 6 or so classes and had a couple of different instructors. They've all been fantastic! I particularly like Jillian because of her awesome playlists :) I've got a few quirky injuries (shoulder, elbow, knee) and have to change things up sometimes, and they are very helpful with this. Also I just really like these workouts because they're all about YOU. It doesn't matter what anyone else is doing...I'm just watching the board trying to get as many splat points as possible and love watching my calorie burn go through the roof (I'm averaging about 500 calories a session). I got the $99 package - 8 classes in a month - and feel that price is pretty competitive for fitness classes in the area, if not on average a little cheaper. If you do the full on Unlimited package it's only $160 a month which is wicked cheap (though I don't know about doing this workout everyday! It's super intense).
Be warned - they can get very busy right before class and it can a little annoying getting all signed up, but all of the staff are still nice and very helpful. I've had no problems whatsoever once I got all signed up and got my OTF fitness band. Also their website for signing up for a class is great/easy. I would highly...

I rarely write reviews and am hesitant to update this one because I don't want to create drama or confrontation from someone at the studio. Now that I have had the opportunity to go to another studio and have coaches from other studios teach, I find the coaches at Uptown do not take the personal interest that all the other coaches do with their clients. Not one single coach knows my name and I've been coming consistently for 3 months now. The coaches are not nearly as encouraging as ones I have experienced at other studios. Like I said, I am hesitant to update my review and am not looking for any confrontation from the studio, but I do want the coaches to be aware they are not putting in the effort to make their clients feel valued (with the exception of their "favorites"). Overall, it is still a wonderful studio full of kind and high energy coaches, it's always clean, and...
Read moreI travel for work all over the country, which is why OTF is appealing to me. However, I’ve never been to a studio as amazing as Uptown (and I’m happy to call it my home studio now). I’ve never had a “bad” experience at any other studio, but none have come close to being quite as wonderful as Uptown. From the moment I first walked in the door, every staff member was friendly and welcoming. They made the workout less intimidating by encouraging me by name, gently giving feedback on form, and keeping the energy high and fun. The coaches and sales associates take the time to know my name and my life, and genuinely care about me. They take time to recognize my output well enough to know when I’m pushing harder than usual in a workout, and they cheer me on for it. They dance, they sing, they hoot and holler, they chit chat and they love on every studio member that walks in their door. This OTF location is the most worthy investment for me - not just in fitness, but in my mental health as a whole. I’d give this crew 10...
