I went with a friend and we got the banh mi. Mine was tofu and my friend's was beef. The only option for sides is their house fries and there are no substitutions allowed, which was disappointing for me because I don't like fries and I think they pair really poorly with this kind of sandwich. The server was really nice but told me it was all she could do, so I had to pay for half a plate of something I wasn't going to eat. (My friend ate his and said the seasoning was fine but the texture of the fries was too starchy.) The banh mi were also pretty bad. The tofu on mine had no seasoning whatsoever which made it super bland. I don't even think it was salted. The texture was okay but I could've done it better at home which is disappointing when going out to eat is something of a luxury for people these days. The tofu was also all piled at the top of the sandwich and the veggies and sauce were all dumped at the bottom, so there wasn't even a chance for the tofu to catch any of that flavor. I would've had to reconstruct the whole sandwich myself I was served which is a silly. All of the sauce and veggies being at the bottom also made it so that the bread was soggy and gross almost immediately. It was the same deal with my friend's sandwich, but he was more willing to deal with it because he was hungry and said the beef was okay. Meanwhile, I wasn't even able to eat the second half of my sandwich because the bread was so soggy and gross it was deteriorating in my hands. $15 for a meal I was able to eat maybe 1/3 because it was gross and I had no option but fries is crazy. I went home hungry and made...
Read moreEdit based on response from management: grabbing a credit card out of my partner’s hand and telling us to get out of the restaurant while rudely yelling “happy birthday” is in no way a goodwill gesture. Neither is a fake gift card and fake loyalty points (which still show a balance, btw).
For the past two years, this place was our favorite neighborhood pho joint, and one of our favorite restaurants in Denver.
Sadly, after tonight, we will never, EVER be back.
Last week, we got a coupon from the restaurant wishing my partner a happy birthday - a sweet gesture since we are regulars.
When we attempted to use the coupon (along with $10 in loyalty points from the restaurant? at the end of dinner, our waitress told us we cannot use these at Pho and Bar, even though the email had the restaurant name, address, and photo - she told us we can only use it at Pho Haus, a place we had never been before.
What followed was the waitress raising her voice at us, telling us that their false coupon was somehow our problem, and telling us to get out of the restaurant (but not before rudely and sarcastically wishing my partner a happy birthday).
I have never in my life been treated so poorly, disrespected, and made to feel like I am somehow the problem.
My advice to management - get your email and loyalty system fixed, and put your staff through customer service training that makes customers feel like human beings, because...
Read moreThis place is phenomenal! Intimately small restaurant and bar with a very calming vibe.
The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Each of them provides an amazing experience for those dining in. A special shout out to our server Kalinn!
Starting off with Asian Buffalo Wings, I couldn't have made a better selection. They have the perfect amount of heat and flavor that touch your taste buds and have you going in for another mouth watering bite!
The traditional pho with grilled chicken was also amazing and is definitely in the top 3 of many pho recipes I've tried around the Denver metro! You can't go wrong with whatever meat choice you pick.
I can't forget the coconut water! Fresh coconut!!! You just have to take a refreshing sip yourself to experience the crisp flavor!
My only suggestion would be different music. Rap isn't exactly fitting for this space in my opinion. It had way to much profanity and derogatory remarks. I think they could still play something that feels trendy and isn't so brash.
Other than that, I'd 10/10 recommend giving this place a try and then another and another because it's...
