Dined at this place with a guest who was in the mood for fried chicken. The restaurant is the end unit of a strip center that faces an alley or street , but Lou's faces Grant Street so it's fairly visible. Street parking was easy to find, but it might just have been the time I was there. There are both indoor and outdoor dining areas and I believe the outdoor area is shared with the bar next door which also shares an interior passage with Lou's. The indoor facility is small and has limited capacity with a couple of booths and a few tables. Upon entering we were greeted by the staff at the counter and after a couple of minutes we had made our decision and placed our order. We sat in one of the booths which was clean and did not have a greasy feel to it. Our order was out within 10 minutes and was very good. We had the Caesar salad which was very good. The greens and croutons were pretty fresh and the dressing had a good zing to it. My guest had the hot spicy chicken sandwich and I had the medium tenders and waffle fries. The chicken is available in 3 heat levels so the medium actually had a bit of a kick to it. My guest got the hot and it did have good heat to it without the use of too many spices. The waffle fries were a bit on the salty side for my preference, but still had good flavor. The entire meal was delicious and the service was very good. The portions were a pretty good size and the prices are fairly reasonable. The only drawback was the drink selection was pretty weak. If you're in the area then this place just might satisfy your hunger for some fried chicken.

First off, we’ve had multiple really wonderful experiences here. Different anniversaries, just coming to hang out. Every single time our experience has been wonderful. We’ve really grieved the loss of the speakeasy St Ellie’s on Platte St and thought we’d never find our cocktail soulmate again. Salita has scratched that itch and we’ve been so grateful to come across skilled mixologists again. They can make you the most basic of espresso martini, but also make something on the fly like a Vieux Carre. Skilled and personable, a wonderful combination. We’re mostly familiar with Jake and have multiple really wonderful interactions with him. We always feel at home, well taken care of and everything is delicious. Fried chicken is good but these cocktails are excellent ;)

i just went in to order some food for myself and two friends. I've never been here before, and i understand that during COVID-19 things have definitely become more stressful for restaurants in general, but the experience was too poor not to mention. of the two chicken sandwich that were ordered for my friends, only one was actually a solid piece of chicken, they used two chicken strips for the other one. My personal order is where things REALLY went south. i ordered a "heaven in a hand basket" in the 16 nugget option. i went back outside, as there were too many people in the shop (easily 7 people with no social distancing in a VERY small space) and left my friends to pick up the order. this was a mistake, as i should've checked the order before they walked out.

APPARENTLY they had either run out of chicken nuggets and didn't bother to inform my friends or the employees DIDN'T know their own menu. they gave me 2, count it 2!!! orders of the chicken strips, one in the 9 size and one in the 6 size. NOT ONLY does that mean i didn't get the food i requested, but i also got charged nearly $30 for an order that i thought was only going to cost approx. $17 according to their menu. how they didn't know that their own menu is beyond logical to me, as there are only 2 items in the "heaven in a hand basket" section, and only 1 of them offers a 16 piece option.

on top of all that, the food frankly just wasn't that special. the chicken is breaded well, but the "flavor" of Nashville hot is not really a flavor at all. the spicy strength is there, but there's no actual spice. you cant taste anything but bland chicken and cayenne pepper. i dont know what Nashville hots supposed to taste like, but if its what i had today, its very disappointing. on top of all that, the side sauces that i requested apparently fell into the twilight zone somewhere along the way to my bag, as literally none of them were with the food.

tl;dr food was bland, two of the 3 orders weren't actually correct, and ONE of those two cost nearly 150% of what i expected to pay for food that was worth AT MOST 75% of what they are charging. there are WAY BETTER chicken places around Colorado that don't screw up orders and screw over customers. id suggest one of those instead. one of the worst eating out experiences i had in a while, COVID-19 or not

BOUNS: they don't list out the prices on the receipt, so my friends and i had to do the fun math to figure out how much we each owed!!!! always a blast to have to use a pen and paper to figure out how badly...

Update 4/20 visit: Knocked off two stars bc today’s visit was beyond poor. I stopped in right before 2pm and the morning bartender messed up every single interaction, between me and her but also every other person in the bar. Each drink took 15-20 mins to make. The cinnamon roll (already made) I ordered that she put in the microwave.. forgot to start it and waited 10+ mins to get that, nice and hard at that point. Even the Uber delivery guy had to wait 15 mins for her to grab a danish and make a coffee. She quoted every person wrong on HH prices, told me no food and then the people next to me five mins later that they were serving food. One woman even walked out bc she was so upset at the terrible wait and lack of service. At its busiest, there was six guest inside. Four of which were waiting on a drink.

Abysmal service - if that morning employee is new, she needs supervision. If it’s even her second or third shift, she should be fired.

To be charged a 22% mandatory tip AND for both cocktails and cinnamon roll (which took 50 mins total wait time between them) was a painful slap in the face. $35 to be ignored.

Old review: Our new favorite cocktail bar. Perfect spot for a date night to play cards & have some drinks.

Both the espresso martini and the starlight martini was amazing. Haven’t tried...
