I love ramen. It’s probably one of my favorite foods. I am not an expert by any means but I make it a point to try new ramen places around town. Not that it makes a huge difference but I’ve lived in Japan for 6 years so I at least have an idea of what authentic ramen is.
This place is legit. I would say it is first or at least tied for first in the Denver area. I haven’t tried everywhere as there seems to be a new ramen spot opening every week these days, but Sukiya makes a wonderful bowl of ramen. It’s not fancy. It’s not trendy. It’s ramen in a nice and clean environment with very friendly staff. They even have Tsukemen ramen which a lot of places don’t have and is one of my favorites. I also recommend the Miso ramen.
I’ve had two vegetarian friends do the veggie option and they loved it as well.
I brought my dad there and we went back the day after again because he liked it so much. That is saying something.
If you want a trendy place that might be bigger and more of a scene, sure pay more and go to Uncle. If what you care about is ramen this is the place.

Read moreStopped in Denver for the night on the way to SLC and had a craving for Ramen. This place was really good, but not the best ramen we’ve ever had. We went on a Friday night at dinner time and the place was packed out. One downside I noticed was that they had the front door propped open, so it was rather warm and flies were coming inside. I ordered the curry tonkotsu ramen. The flavor was good, but felt like it was lacking something. They didn’t shy away from the toppings, though! Mine came with a fried chicken cutlet, naruto, menma, half a soft boiled egg, bean sprouts, pickled ginger, and green onion. The first few bites of the chicken were great. Had a decent crunch and awesome flavor. However, you need to eat the chicken really quickly or else the breading gets soggy fast, making it not as pleasant. Overall though, it definitely satisfied that ramen craving and we’d definitely give it another shot if we’re ever...
Read moreCame in when it was kinda busy dinner time, but luckily got seated almost instantly. We ordered tonkotsu and the spicy tonkotsu ramen, and the takoyaki.
The ramen was pretty basic, nothing to write about but both our soups were kinda on the salty side, had to drink lots of water in order to finish the bowl.
Takoyaki was undercooked and very soft and soggy, kinda bland, we dipped them in our soups to get more flavor out of them.
1 server for the whole restaurant (kinda small place so it's fine). And service was great. Friendly waitress, fast to bring our orders.
I wouldn't come back because I've already been to other ramen places in Denver that are better and closer to where we live, but I don't hate the place. Come here if you are close by and want to grab a...
