Bric à Brac for a long time was just that place I heard people bring up once in a while and never knew what the hell they were talking about. Finally, my sister-in-law had a Birthday party there which gave me an excuse to go and see the place for myself. I do believe there is an upstairs to this place but I never went so don’t judge me on that… The first floor was nice and offered a kind of TLC Hoarders meets hippie college kid’s dorm room feel. The table our party was sat at was tightly packed and once you were seated you were seated… that or your table neighbor was going to get real familiar with you in your attempt to leave. The menu was neat and I believe they had some specials written on a chalk board that they left at the table. Drinks were ordered immediately but it did take a bit of time to get them and even then the drinks were poorly made; we sent back drinks at least twice during the dinner. The food also took quite some time to reach us but it was good stuff… not selling your first born good but better than any slop I could make. I really can’t say whether or not the party was a success partially because I think she was friends with the owner and didn’t want to be rude but she seemed to have an OK time. The mood was a bit aloof and I wasn’t really getting the feeling that anyone was having a great time but none of them were angry either so I suppose that’s a win. Overall the experience was OK and I was left thinking, “that was nice.” And “I’m no longer hungry.” So I suppose as a restaurant they succeeded. They did have really cool lighting in the place that I remember. I guess my point is… if you want try it but if you don’t care to then you really aren’t...
Read moreThe entire family business is trash including tonight’s staff and MOD! Management says the kitchen just closed! And we can’t service you. Yet we witnessed a family who just got served outside! The manager then says we closed at 9pm however the online website says this business closes at 10pm! This lamé family Business refused to help us after we paid on Groupon! Which also stated this business closes at 10pm! This is ridiculous especially when you have people vacationing such as myself who is misinformed and didn’t know! The manager on duty then states again Google do not have the correct hours nor does Groupon because this is a family business! To me This entire business is trash including this entire family! The young waitress had a nasty nonchalant attitude when she asked us did we need anything! Instead of may I help you! She just stated we’re closed then she closed the door and didn’t offer us to walk inside of the building to cool off or anything. Yet she left us to stand outside in the heat and wait! How family friendly is this! after serving drinks to ppl who just arrived at 9pm! I wasted money and believed the internet! So it’s my fault! However I believe because we was BLACK they refused to help serve us! Therefore this is how apparently black people are mistreated at 9pm! I am vacationing and Destin Florida so far has been wonderful until this trash of a business was unprofessional unfriendly and unwelcoming! I would not recommended black ppl...

I went to Bric a Brac for dinner. We had a reservation for a party of six which includedmyself, my husband and four children, ages ranging from 17 to 11 years. The decor and ambience was great with live music.
Everything was great until the waitress presented the bill, where there was a difference of $12 between a credit card payment and cash payment.
This was not mentioned on the restaurant’s website or the restaurant’s menu. The manager stated this is something that the restaurant was recently doing. He showed us a nondescript sign on the back of the entrance door, where you would only see it when leaving. The sign didn’t mention the 4% surcharge for credit card payment.
I was told that I could use the ATM machine to make a cash payment. However, given it wasn’t in my banking network, I would also be charged additional fee.
So basically, at the time of payment, I would be charged additional fees for either a credit card or cash payment.
Definitely walked away with a sour taste in my mouth. Can’t believe I didn’t have a opportunity to decide whether I could get cash on the way to the restaurant or better yet choose one that doesn’t have a 4% credit...
