Sarah K's Gourmet — Restaurant in Destin

Sarah K's has been open for a number of years and is perennially popular with many local residents. It is located in a shopping center, does not face out on Highway 98, and can easily be missed by the hundreds of thousands who drive down 98 in a given year.

For ease of locating the shop, it is very close to Cracker Barrel restaurant (which is facing highway 98).

Sarah K's sells carry-out and is known for its gourmet meals. The most popular item on the menu is the crab cakes.

I cannot eat crab due to an allergy but family members tell me the crab cakes sold here are very good. They are a light brown color and easy to heat up in a microwave or an oven. For those looking for a gourmet meal to take back to the family in one of the many condos in the area, this may be the good start to a gourmet meal.

I personally go for the "Death by Chocolate" brownie. I can eat one by myself but it is large enough for two people unless they are chocolate fanatics.

There is always a good selection of gourmet selections to take home often including chicken dishes, pasta, etc. Many of the dishes feature crab.

I recently picked up a slice of lasagna without any crab. It was a large piece, and tasted great. I heated it up in a microwave for about 1 1/4 minutes, poured a glass of wine, and enjoyed the meal.

In addition to the items displayed in a case, there are a number of dishes that are frozen and ready to take out of the store.

The employees here are always very friendly, willing, and eager to help a customer pick out something appropriate for their meal and are more than helpful in sharing information on the dishes that are available.

Fantastic Vacation Addition! Sara K’s gourmet was an unbelievable addition to our trip. We were welcomed to a stocked kitchen, cold beverages and incredible dinner of crab stuffed chicken and chicken fingers the kids ate for several days! We ordered breakfast and lunch for several days; incredible fruit, burritos and breakfast casserole not to mention the quiche and mimosas. For lunch we had the chicken salad and Asian slaw with additions of hummus, cheese spread, and smoked tuna - all of which far exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the slaw and chicken salad for multiple days. We also enjoyed incredible fruit trays, beef sandwiches, and absolutely incredible crab cakes! We tried to figure out what made the crab cakes so incredible and finally we just agreed the absolute quantity of crab! Every dish literally exceeded expectations with flavor. The ease in ordering and the commitment to delivery was simple and again exceeded expectations. Thank you so much for helping to make our vacation simpler, tastier, and much better for quality of food choices for a large group! We will return to Destin and Sara K’s will be a key element to another...

While we were in Destin I just had to have some fresh crab cakes. After asking around on the local FB page it was unanimous Sarah Ks were hands down the best. So we went by her shop and was greeted with with a smile and she is super friendly. We got a pan to take back the the house to cook with the fish we got from Destin ice seafood market. Super easy and she wrote the cooking instructions on the lid. If you are a wasabi lover she has a cucumber wasabi dipping sauce that was phenomenal! She also has a house made remoulade that was fantastic as well. I also got a tub of her spicy pimiento cheese that was top notch too! That doesn’t even scratch the surface of what she offers.
