Insomnia Cookies — Restaurant in Detroit

A very tasty place to eat...for someone who doesn't have food allergies. Had an awkward experience of going here with my class when my professor decided to treat us all to cookies. I mentioned to them that I couldn't have anything with chocolate in it because of allergies, and asked for their recommendations. They recommended I leave. I hadn't been pushy about the request, and this seemed very odd to do, especially in front of everyone in my class.

Apparently after further research with people who work here (I am a journalism major, so nosy by nature), they don't wear protective gloves when handling food. So if you have a severe food allergy to nuts or chocolate, and the worker who gets you your cookie just touched something with that in it, you're probably going to have a bad reaction no matter what you eat.

This is a popular place on campus for a good reason; just be mindful if you're going to eat here and you have a nut or chocolate allergy. I was able to get a straight answer from them upon further questioning; others...

I’ve heard only good things about Insomnia Cookies so I decided to give it a try on my lunch break today. And let’s just say, it’s a good thing that I stay a good jump from here. These cookies are so good! Placed my order online because I know parking downtown is a pain. Was greeted with a smile and my order was ready upon arrival. I got the 6 pack and though it’s pricey, it’s worth it for a good treat every now and then. I tried a couple cookies in the car and had to stop myself from devouring them all. I received them warm and they were still soft later in the day when I finished them off lol but these are some darn good cookies!...

I can say that I was pleased with my order. I can say they have some good cookies as well. I enjoyed each one. I got oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, peanut butter and snickerdoodle. They all were slight warm already they also held their moisture after a few hours. Chips were melty and smooth a little over baring but they were good (the kids loved them). The oatmeal raisin cookies were just right not too many raisins with good flavor as well as the other flavors. I would like to try a few others.

Customer service was fair/ good.

Satisfied my cravings, I do recommend, and I do plan to go back to try other items...
