Zero stars would be more appropriate after this visit. My wife and I visit Jimmy Johns many times a month. This past Sunday, I can honestly say that I have never been treated so terribly as a regular customer ever in my life.
I called to place an order for delivery at about 1230. Being a local in Summit County, I understand that staffing can be an issue due to a small employee pool and I also know that the weekends can be very busy. Therefore, I specifically asked the employee who answered the phone 1. how busy are you right now? 2. how long do you think it would be approximately for a delivery? 3. would it be more convenient for YOU if I were to place the order over the phone and come pick it up?
The response I received was "thanks man, that's really cool of you, but we arent very busy right now and my driver has been gone for 10 minutes and should be back soon so you should be cool". Great!, I thought... famous last words.... 45 minutes later my "Freaky fast" sandwiches still had not arrived, nor had I received a phone call from the store to give me an update.
I called the store back at this point and luckily the same employee that took my order answered the phone. I politely asked for an update, he responded "uhm.... your order is still sitting here and I have no idea where my driver is. Must be tough driving right now." I paused, and said, "ok, how about you guys remake my sandwiches fresh and I'll just drive up to the store and pick them up." Again, I received a "thanks man". I left shortly thereafter to go to the store. Not only was there hardly any traffic on the roads, but when I arrived I noticed that there were 5 employees working and the store was at most half full.
I waited in line behind 2 groups of guests and when it was my turn, I announced that I was the one with the delivery order that was being remade and before I could hardly get the words out of my mouth the apparent "manager" standing next to the employee at the register snapped at me very disrespectfully and said that i needed to be patient, i needed to watch my tone, and that he hadn't had a chance to start making my order again.
It was at this point that I decided enough was enough and asked for my order to be cancelled and my card refunded. I, once again, received a snippy response from the "manager" who said I would have to wait until their shift was over at the end of the day to receive my refund. I stood fast and said that I have been patient enough, I need you to refund me now, please. The employee and manager then honored my request.
On the way out the door, I got an apology from the employee (pretty sure it was the same guy that I dealt with on the phone-- Nathan?) which seemed genuine and as though things that were happening were above his pay grade. Despite this disaster of an experience, I believe he should be commended for trying his best-- clearly this newer employee has had less than ample training and it is not his fault-- frankly I think he tried his best. The manager, on the other hand, doesn't represent the company well at all and I would be giving serious consideration to whether or not he belongs working for me if I was the owner/franchiser of this location.
The biggest bummer, my wife and I no longer have a solid sandwich place to get lunch near our home anymore as this place might as well be gone to us. This isn't how people (especially local, regular customers that are kind and patient)...
Read moreI went here today because I live somewhere where I can’t readily get jimmy John’s and I miss it. So I was very excited, until I walked in and was met with very negative energy. It was clear they are short staffed, which is pretty much the norm everywhere these days so I was unfazed by that. I ordered the combo, and was rung up and paid. Then I had my chips for the combo and asked which sized drink was included and he said oh, I need to ring up your chips. I clearly ordered a combo which comes with chips. He then added a significant amount to ring me up again, and when I merely asked for clarification regarding the charges, he was extremely condescending and rude, and said trust me this is the cheapest way. Okay, but please just explain. He was then extremely rude and said, look, I don’t set the prices, I just press the buttons. I was taken aback by his response, and tried to dial myself back, and apologized and stated that I wasn’t trying to be difficult, I was just confused by the charges. He then doubled down on being rude and condescending. I was taken aback by the rudeness I experienced at this location and will definitely...
Read moreBummed about our experience tonight at this location. We put in an order for one sandwich as we passed through to get our kids something to eat. Google says the store closed at 8 pm. We stopped at 720 pm. When we get there, the door is open and my husband goes inside. The teenage worker had headphones in mopping the floor. Didn’t even hear him. My husband said he had an order to pickup but the kid said “we are closed due to labor”. And is there any way we can cancel the order. The other employee was another teenager and everything in the restaurant was all closed up ready for them to leave. Seems they just wanted a reason to close the store early and get out of there. I understand closing a few mins early but closing 30-40 minutes? I got a call a few mins later saying my order had come through again and i asked why they were closing early and he said “labor costs are through the roof right now so yeah, sorry”. Not sure why the teenagers are going to know labor costs are through the roof but i asked them to make sure my order is cancelled and...
