I love Applebee's however the dodge city store is challenging as a customer. This latest visit ordered the burbon chicken and shrimp. Asked for "extra grilled" onions, they should have had a nice caramelization, but they were still white and barely warm. The sizziling platter was too hot to handle but not sizzling. We odered a side of sauteed mushrooms, they didnt come out with the meal, in fact I'd finished my meal before they brought them out. The server seemed more onterested in sitting down with her friends in the bar area instead of waiting on us. When we finally got her to come back over to our table we asked for dessert menu which she dutifully dropped off however we didn't see her again we wanted to order dessert it took quite a while for her to come back we ordered the Blondie the pan Blondie on the sizzling platter and the platter again wasn't sizzling in fact the cream sauce that was poured over the ice cream was cold when it was meant to be a warm sizzling source so all-in-all another underwhelming experience at this particular store. We shared our frustration with the manager on duty, and was told sorry and that was it. No offer of any sort of comp to come back again or anything, a what can we do to make it up to you would have been a nice touch, or a free dessert next time we were in. But no. Ah well, plenty of other applebees that are awesome, just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI take it Dodge has no standards for management and customer service? 1.) I sat at my table for 30 minutes, didnāt see a server. After we finally met our server it took her 15 more minutes to get our drinks. I thought Managers were supposed to check on tables on top of the servers all I saw the tall guy manager who holds himself on some throne who thinks heās invisible outside on his phone during a dinner rush? Then he proceeded to ignore me signaling him I knew he saw me cause we locked eyes and he held up a finger to show 1 min. That minute turned into 20 and he didnāt even come back until after our food (which didnāt have any silverware) was delivered. My steak was raw, he didnāt seem to care. My fries were soggy and cold. $20 for that? I might as well have gone to McDonalds for that type of service. I just wanna know who in their right mind would let this āmanagerā run a shift by himself on a Friday night. 2 years ago the service was amazing and I definitely know he wasnāt there so maybe thatās why this place seems to go downhill. I would give you his name but he doesnāt wear a name badge probably to avoid the consequences of poor management. Definitely wonāt be back to this location if heās still there. Sad they make anyone managers. He was a tall guy with black short hair. Someone from home office should really monitor his shifts since clearly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place will not disappoint the local clientele along with the weary traveler. We were the latter, driving into Dodge City after a long 10 hour hard drive. We rolled into town 30 minutes to their closing time, debated for 10 minutes if we could really be "those people" - you know the people who don't understand walking into a restaurant on a Tuesday night 20 minutes to close and order our hearts desire, which at thT moment was stiff drinks and hot food. We decided to be "those people" and we were greeted by a smiling manager /host (Derrick) and sat at the bat where Amber waited on us with the care and attention that instantly made us feel at home. However, we ordered quickly because let's face it if your going to be "those people" get real and know these people have a job to promptly close down the restaurant. Despite this being the situation multiple staff came by to ask how we were, how our food and drinks were and were interested to hear about our travels. We swapped stories as I drank a perfect martini and delicious nachos and beer pretzels - the perfect ending to a long day. These people will treat you and serve you well! Stop in and get the local Intel and enjoy some Kansas...
