Wish I could give four and a half stars because I do not think it deserves a low four stars but also don't think it deserves a high five stars. We went in at about 2:30 on Friday the 26th, so the lunch crowd was gone and dinner crowd hadn't started. Place was was slow and quiet, which to me is good. We were greated immediately and seated and gentlemen asked if we had been there before and gave us recommendations. He also wrote on the table cover "first time". Which is to give the server a clue to explain how to eat the seafood boil and how to use all the stuff given to you. For four of us we ordered three different seafood boils, a dozen oysters, fried pickles, and for my non-seafood eating wife chicken wings. Oysters are always hit or miss, these were decent sized, well shucked(not torn to shreds), but a bit bland, which is not the restaurants fault. The boils were great, perfectly cooked, great spice, sausage, shrimp, mussels, crawfish, crab, potatoes, corn, and eggs. All fantastic. The only food complaint were the wings. Tough and chewy. I know, what do you expect from wings in a seafood place. But, if you serve it, you should make sure it's good. Overall though, food was excellent. The service was the only issue here and a very small issue. The server was being trained and I think she did a good job as a trainee. However, her trainer needs some work. Again, the gentlemen who seated us wrote "first time", in order to tell the server to explain to us how to eat the boils, they didn't. They also only came to table once during meal and they were only two other groups there and there was two of them. All four of us were out of drinks for a good while but finally got refills. What was really an inconvenience is she never cleared anything, by the time we finished there were ten glasses on the table plus all the empty plates, the shell bucket, the empty appetizers. There literally was no room to eat the food. Oh and when a table of four shares two appetizers, it's nice to have some plates and forks to share them out. Again. The yound lady was training, she was polite and trying, her trainer failed to a small extent. But overall, very good experience, much better then that overrated...
Read more“Super friendly, nice atmosphere, free appetizer!” That is what I initially put as my review while we were sitting there waiting for our food. The waitress said we’d get a free appetizer for a 5 star review, but we hadn’t experienced much so I didn’t have much to comment on other than the greeting and the atmosphere…I wish I had waited to give the review because once we received our food my sister opened up her crab and found a short curly hair in it. We waved down the waitress and told her about the hair, but she tried to gaslight us by saying it was just a “hair from the mussels”…she didn’t even look at it, she just assumed we were trying to get a free meal when that was not the case we just wanted food without hair in it, still paid for it and even tipped upwards of 20%, but we literally had to ask multiple times if we could just have a new meal while both the waitress and the manager tried to tell us it was a mussel hair (all while not even looking at the actual hair with the little bulb/root thing at the end which is how hair looks when plucking your eyebrows…it was legit hair bro I don’t know what to tell you). Finally the manager gave in and offered to replace the meal and bring out a new one. We would’ve taken a picture if we thought they were going to try and give us the runaround, but we handed over the meal contaminated with hair before taking a picture because we thought we would want to see it. Other than that the food was good, but the vibe was definitely weird after the hair incident and they really just seemed to want us to leave after that. And for the record, we saw the “mussel hairs” in the dish that they were trying to say it was, but you could clearly see the difference in the “hairs” as the mussel ones were thicker, brown and stick straight…the short curly hair that was in the crab was black, thinner, curly, and had a legit bulb at the end of it. So yeah, be wary of the free appetizer thing for a...
Read moreThis place only gets 4 stars for how absolutely delicious the food was. Otherwise it was terrible.
Got seated right away, at a booth right in the middle of everything, but we sit there FOREVER. Another waitress eventually comes to tell us our waitress is coming, but it still takes forever. Finally a waitress comes and takes our drink and app order, along with the order for the toddler. Again FOREVER passes and finally brings drinks, but she "forgot to bring a bucket" and darts away before we can order or ask questions about something confusing on the menu. FOREVER passes again and she brings back the appetizer but didn't bring whatever bucket we were supposed to have but still didn't need it yet anyway. She then didn't come back until the food was ready, which was forever again, and she brings the toddlers food at the same time despite us having ordered it way earlier with the drinks, so he's difficult to handle - every other restaurant recognizes the priority of getting food out for a little kid but this place didn't care. Then we wait forever for her to come back so we could pay. She didn't come to get refills for us during any of this. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE, literally spent hours here just waiting around. Also the high chairs sucked, hurt my kid's leg and wasn't tall enough for the table, I don't know how they screw up a basic high chair.
Also it was outrageously overpriced for dinner. It was a shrimp boil in a plastic bag and it was almost $30, and didn't have much in it. Two tiny potatoes, one half corn cob, they could have at least included more of the...
