It had been a while since we visited Pio Pio . Well, tonight was such a wonderful reminder of why we chose to come here again for my husband's pre-birthday celebration! Our server, Josue , was so welcoming, helpful and courteous. He seemed to literally show up when we had a question about something. He was very attentive, yet never intrusive. The food was A MAZ I N G!!! I had the steak and grilled vegetables with rice, beans and sweet plantains. The marinade used on the steak was pertection, and their garlic cream sauce was delicious with both of our meals. My husband had the rotisserie chicken, which also had a fantastic marinade and was incredibly juicy and flavorful. He had the same sides. We both had a glass of their sangria (which JOSUE ) highly recommended also Josue recommended the flan my husband is generally not a fan of flan, as it usually has a very runny, gelatinous texture. This flan got devoured by both of us, and we were commenting how the texture was just perfectly perfect!!! We were so appreciative of not only the amazing service and flavor of our food, but the EXTRA details that went into our dining experience being so special. They were inviting and proud for us to be experiencing their culture. We told our server we wanted to leave a good online review, THANK YOU JOSUE We will be dining there again very...
Read moreHad dinner with a few friends over the weekend. The atmosphere was wonderful and felt like more of an elevated dining experience. However, the service was lacking.
We sat and waited about 5-7 minutes before we were greeted to order our drinks. When the drinks came she couldn't remember what one of our party members had ordered.
Two other tables with larger parties came in after us and were greeted and served before us. We didn't share the same server. I'm not sure what was going on with our server but she seemed very forgetful when it came to us. She was very nice just not attentive.
Then the food came out one plate at a time. From my understanding, this is not a Tapas restaurant, and by the time the last member of our party received her dish the first one served was almost done with her meal. The restaurant was so cold we didn't want her food to get cold while waiting.
I ordered the Chaufa Rice and it was delicious. They also brought sauce to the table both were wonderful one was creamy and the other was spicy, I did enjoy them both.
My friend ordered a Grilled Steak with Onions and she was so disappointed, The steak was then overcooked with little flavor.
Over all I would return as my food was great however I hope to have a different server, or at least catch her on...
Read moreWe went while on vacation. We meet some friends there. We ordered some of the chicken and beef empanadas. They were good. For dinner my son ordered calamari as his entree. This boy loves calamari and seafood and he didn’t eat it because it had no seasoning. Husband got the soup and salad with rotisserie chicken. Only thing he enjoyed was the chicken. The soup was lacking flavor. And they had no salad dressing for the salad. It comes with some garlic sauce they have so he didn’t even eat that because he thought it was ranch and poured it on the salad and didn’t like it. I ordered half chicken with rice, beans and cassava. The casava had no seasoning and maybe it’s supposed to be that way but I didn’t enjoy it. Rice was extremely bland and beans were ok. Waiter never came around to refill our waters. All 6 of us had empty cups. The rotisserie chicken was good and juicy. When server finally came around and I mentioned how everything was lacking flavor he just picked it up and took it away. Didnt even try to apologize for us not having a good experience. For spending over $100 I’d expect the food to have seasoning and flavor. Overall...
