Rocket Deli — Restaurant in Duluth

I popped in after a meeting in the area as I had missed lunch. I ordered the Tuna sandwich, no alterations. It was really delicious~ I loved the care they took in building the sandwich. the Texas toast was perfectly toasted - not the kind that tears the inside of my mouth, but provides a subtle toast texture. The tuna salad was perfectly balanced - not too sloppy and wet, not too dry. Not too salty either! The pickle was crisp and salty and delicious. The chips were a perfect amount so that I could get adequate crunch between bites. The decor was simple and industrial - white walls, menu boards held by fastened galvanized steel pipes, ceiling lights strung through half pallets. The bathroom was clean and well stocked - and I didn't need to ask for a key, so that was pleasant as well. I was too hungry to take photos, but perhaps next time. The sandwich making was a bit slow and confusing as the lady who started making my order went to the back and someone else finished, long minutes later. Or maybe it just seemed so long as I was very hungry.

I loved the stamped logo on the bag and sandwich wrap - they were nice touches, and much preferred over a costly and wasteful sticker logo. All in all I recommend this deli, it was quite good. My only gripe is the Styrofoam used to package the chips. In this age of sustainable options, it is irresponsible to use Styrofoam for take out containers. Spend the few extra cents to be more sustainable, and the Earth will thank you for it. We live next to the greatest inland sea, it is our duty to protect it whenever possible. I would also appreciate more pescatarian or vegetarian selections. There is great plant based salami and other 'meats', I would pay more for them and frequent more often as well. I have been waiting to come and try the food here at this establishment since hearing about it months ago. I was happy that I was able to come on in today and try it out with my family! Great food quality, excellent pricing, very tasty and satisfying flavors and options, even on the current limited menu.

We got the pastrami and also the turkey sandwich. Both were really good with freshly baked bread, with which you can taste that it's obviously freshly baked with quality ingredients. The produce and also the house-made and deliciously prepped meats were amazing. The pickle spear adds a great refreshing balance and slight acidity, and the chips give a great, light and salty crunch that texturally balances it all. We were all satisfied to the point where we bought some more to take with us home.

After talking with the owner, more is to come and I'm really looking forward to it all. I cannot say this enough, for the quality, freshness, flavor, and the service, the value is tremendous. Give them a shot and let Rocket Deli shoot your flavor cravings to the sky.

First time trying Rocket Deli! The service was incredible. The two individuals working up front were so friendly and put so much care into the sandwiches. I ordered the corned beef sandwich and it was delicious! I was very impressed with the salt levels of the meat and the rye bread just melted in the mouth!
