Ok first of all I Am 36 and middle class.... me and my GF walk in to this place and there is 9 people all at the bar... 1 employee who is the bar tender. The place is really gloomy and has booth and table seating. We sit at the 2 remaining stools beside. The nice make bar tender proudly makes us a drink. We order and drinks are good. As we sit a minute a scary woman with torn work clothes, intense eye makeup, and nasty tattoos walks behind the bar to a makeshift pressure grill and soup warmer. This is apparently their kitchen. We watch on as she just stands there and does nothing. We ask for a good menu just to see what they could possibly serve as food from a microwave.... We receive the one and only food menu as the bar tender gets it from another patron. Look over the menu and it is less than clean and gladly give it back as in the mean time the freak show female eye makeup lady begins to touch the food with bare hands as she puts it on the pressure cooker. She then touches various other items and goes back to flip the food and again touches it bare hands. So we decode to get a 2nd and last drink... We both order Moscow mules only to find out that they only have 1 copper mug in the whole place to serve it in???? I guess it was time to go.... kinda felt like I was in...
Read moreWould have really liked to add this place to my collection of over 300 breweries that I have visited, but, sadly, I cannot.
My wife and I walked in at around 4pm on a saturday, there were a couple people at the bar, and a few booths. We sat at the bar, and I asked the bartender of you had pint glasses with your logo on. He was washing a few glasses, said yes and walked away. He walked back, poured a drink for another table, at which time a wedding party showed up.
Yes, lots of people. All of whom showed up after me. None of whom sat at the bar. Yet I was left sitting there for almost 15 minutes before before I was done with being ignored.
So, yes, despite my hobby of checking out and reviewing breweries, and after having been to over 300 breweries, purchasing at least a flight, a pint glass, and often more, I walked out with nothing more or less than I...
Read moreSo we were in town last week and stopped in to Carmody for a pint and some dinner, since I'm always up for a good irish pub. It was a bit of a disappointment to hear that they are not serving food that night (Monday) and only had chips/guac or hot dogs, which of course came AFTER we got our drinks. In retrospect that's probably on me since the place was completely deserted other than three people at the bar and I really should have asked about the food first. Honestly though with what they were serving and how deserted it was (possibly due to the major road construction on their street), I'm really wondering why they were even open on a super slow Monday. Anyway, the Black 47 Stout I had was actually very good so that is worth an extra star, but we finished out chips and drinks and walked to a nearby brew pub for some...
