Simply amazing. We had a season pass for the first time this past season and not once were we disappointed. From hilarious scenes to powerful moments, the Duluth Playhouse has exceeded my expectations in multiple ways.
Great actors! Very impressed with the caliber of these locals actors. These plays feature elaborate sets, great music (which is sometimes live), lively sound effects, notable choreography, and beyond.
And the Norshor Theater! It is beautiful, with not a bad seat on the house. Recently renovated, it is modern and clean while keeping many of its original details and charm, paired with good concession options and convenient skywalk accessibility. They even have ushers waiting by the parking ramp to assist with directions and wheelchairs if needed.
Lastly, I can't forget to include the customer service staff. We had an unexpected family tragedy that resulted in us missing a play, but we didn't realize it until afterwards. The office staff worked with us to make sure we could get new arrangements. It meant the world to us to be able to attend something positive after our heavy time. Thank you Duluth Playhouse! You never disappoint.
Can't wait for the next...
Read moreWhile I have always had a good experience at the Playhouse stage, their satellite theater, the Underground, leaves much to he desired. Super unimpressed (to put it nicely) with The Duluth Playhouse-The Underground. My husband and I bought season tickets for each other. Not only did they totally screw up and oops not reserve our seats for The Santaland Diaries "but we can do standing room only tickets for you" no thank you. ..I actually don't care to sit where there's a steel bar blocking my view for the entire show .... now they are telling me we won't be able to see Calendar Girls unless the company decides to put on an additional show "I don't know what to tell you. I have no tickets." We have already PAID FOR TICKETS in the cost of the wild card pass. This was stated to the "gentleman" on the phone whose response was "uh-huh". The only perk is supposed to be guaranteed seating to the shows unless you are drinking alcohol. Then there are 2 for 1 exorbitantly over-priced drinks. What a joke. Don't be taken in by their...
Read more“ I went to see the mean girls show at the Duluth Playhouse. During the show the music cut out for several minutes and it was clear the kids did not know what to do. I found it strange that the audience wasn’t informed what was going on. I think the kids handled it pretty well. But I still wonder how much theater education is occurring here for a place that claims to prioritize children’s shows and education given how the quality seemed to be a disservice to the kids. I was also frustrated because the sound was really imbalanced. The background music was too loud and it was really difficult to hear the actors voices. I also think that employees should be prioritizing their hygiene, especially if they’re going to be...
