I've been to multiple Jason's Deli locations and this by far is the worst. The table tops are almost guaranteed to be dirty, food in the salad/buffet bar is usually wilted looking. The ice machine has worked only once in the 4 times I've eaten here. The ice cream station looks like it exploded. These problems are both the fault of the cleaning staff and the management.
My friend and I came in (the last time we ever will) last month (June) at about 30 minutes to close. There were easily 5 booths with diners and three or so tables pushed together with a large group of people playing some kind of board game. We were aware of the time and expected to only be given the option to carry-out. However the girl working the register asked us "Dine in or carry out?" We opted to dine in. Placed our order and went to our booth. The ice machine was again broken and most of the tea containers were empty.
About 10 minutes later (20 min till close) a woman whom I assumed was the manager (heavy set black woman) began walking to all the tables, we couldn't quite hear what she was saying. Each table nodded. She approached the set of tables where a board game was being played by about 6 people and we heard her state "Just want to let you know we're closing in 20 minutes." She approaches my booth and tells my friend and I "We're closing in 10 minutes, (not 20 like she told everyone else) so you're going to have to leave." I looked at her in confusion and said "We haven't gotten our food yet." She says "I'll put them in boxes." I said "No, we were asked if we would like to dine in or carry-out, we're going to dine in." She responds louder "I have to close the store!" I replied "That's fine." She is now getting frustrated and says "I have to lock the front door!" I said "That's fine." At this point she's fuming and says "I can't lock the store with YOU in here!" I said "I've been to many other Jason's Deli locations and this is a first." She snaps at me "I'm NOT going to argue with YOU." I said "Well good, you shouldn't, seeing as I am a paying customer." She snatches the order number off our table and storms off.
I get up and go to the food prep line where our food has been sitting, on trays. The two people behind the counter look shocked as I take our food order and walk it back to my booth.
As we are eating she and the girl at the register begin talking about us loudly. We ignore them and finish eating. We finish our food within a minute of closing and as we were getting into our car we watched the group of people who had been playing a board game still standing around inside.
The unsanitary condition of this location, combined with the terrible customer service from the manager is far more than enough to keep me from ever coming back here. Literally, clean this place up, get new management and you'll see...
Read moreMany, many issues with Jasons Deli today and completely unacceptable response from the restaurant team adding much stress and work to my day. Catering lunch for the office is supposed to be a fun, surprise for the office- not an ordeal!
Issue 1: Group Order form was supposed to cut off at 10:45am. Instead it cut off at 9:54am. I call the store and they tell me they can’t reopen it and to just submit another order and they will deliver both at the same time.
Issue 2: Both (2) orders submitted and only one is delivered at 11:30am . I received a voicemail from the store that the next order won’t be delivered until 12:30pm. So I call the store and they tell me the associate I had spoken to that morning did not pass on the update to the Take away team. Apologized that’s it. Tells me I have to wait for the next order because there are orders infront of mine that need to be made and delivered. Doesn’t make sense since I had confirmed all of this with the store.
*The order they delivered was the wrong group order! About 20 lunches all with names I didn't recognize. I tell the store and they ask if they can come pick it up! As if they were going to still deliver it to the intended office- even though we had clearly gone through it all and it had been sitting in our office for a good 30 min or so. I refused to give it back to the store bc that's gross for the recipients! Ended up passing it out to the building staff- great surprise for them!
Issue 3: After many, many calls- all to different lines- not sure how this happened? I was told I was speaking to a manager 3 times and each time at the end of my call, the associate said, “let me get a manager” so therefore I explained the issue 3 times all while trying to update my office as to why their lunch is not ready.
Issue 4: The second delivery man just called me with a rush order- I asked him if it’s my complete order (as in both) and he said he didn’t know but it was large and he didn’t have an itemized list of its contents. I get back to my desk and it's still not the correct order!! I'm missing the other half!
Delivery number 3 just completed at 12:40pm and I have all the food orders but only ONE OF THE DRINKS arrived! This has been a complete nightmare and when I call the store they just say so and so team member ‘did not communicate with another team member. It’s not my fault.’ Not only was this lunch was a complete mess and made me look bad in front of my office. Everyone is coming to my desk complaining to me. It’s not right. Spreading the word of my experience to the admins as a warning!
I’m exhausted, frustrated and completely confused as to how this happened with a large order clearly for an office lunch. I had to reach out to corporate to...
Read moreOrdered for delivery, and food is decent, but when you're having a bad day, missing 2 little things like this really doesn't make it better. It's so simple to check on, and everything was still sealed when we got it so the delivery driver didn't take it. Just negligence on their end. I refrained from posting the name of the host on receipt cause this isn't always a 1 person thing. Not sure if it matters for this though cause from reading reviews it seems they follow the system of "Thank high stars, and say sorry you feel that way or had that experience otherwise." That hands off attitude of owners/high end managers are part of the reason people don't want to put in their all or work for some places at all.
-edit for the owner response. I didn't want/expect anything from this. This was an online order for delivery, and the service already provided an adequate solution. I don't feel the need to contact anyone via phone(hopefully it's a business number, and not personal.). It's the simple notice of double checking. Nobody needs to be punished, and no 'wrongs' need...
