I arrived at McKendrick’s on 08/24 for my friends birthday dinner. Long story short: I would never go to this restaurant if I wasnt invited. When I walked in, I was greeted with a cold energy & looked up & down like my outfit was out of dress code. I had on a dress, cardigan, & sandals. Would you have liked me to wear a suit & tie??? Other customers were dressed much more casual than I was but were greeted with better energy. I still gave them a chance after the cold greeting. When the waiter finally came to my table, he started by asking me obvious questions. He also didn’t offer a drink or any bread. Instead of asking me if more people are coming at a table of 8 (only 2 of us were there at this point), how about offer me some water? Second red flag. He took his sweet time bringing the water & then asked me another obvious question. There was also no drink menu on the table. After asking for a drink menu, he only brought me the cocktail menu with about 6-7 lousy drinks on it. I was confused as to why there weren’t more drinks on the menu? This is fine dining. You should offer wine & other drinks right? So I asked him about the shortness of the drink menu & he brings me a wine menu the size of a small yearbook. I didn’t even feel like ordering a drink at this point. Or giving the restaurant anymore of my time & energy. The whole time his energy was giving: “I don’t feel like doing this.” Which is fine because who wants to be at work on a Saturday evening? But I watched him & he had a better poker face & smile with his other tables. So he just didn’t feel like dealing with me & my friends. So we happily cancelled our reservation & went around the corner to Eclipse di Luna. It was amazing & a much better vibe! I highly recommend Eclipse di Luna & wouldn’t waste your time with Mckendricks.
