Attention!!! Do not eat at Newk's Eatery! My family and I had the WORST customer service experience EVER! My husband and I discovered Newk's when looking for vegan friendly lunch options near our area a couple of months back. So, for our lunch date, we gave Newk's at the Perimeter location store, a try. We ordered two of the veggie sandwiches that Newk's offered, which we really enjoyed. My husband can't eat cheese, so the young lady at the register substituted it out for avocado instead. The customer service that day was great and the staff seemed cool, even with the heavy lunch crowd making it really busy in there. We enjoyed that experience and food so much that we actually ended up going back the following night to get our new favorite sandwiches, with my husband substituting the cheese for avocado again. Feeling like we found another veggie-friendly restaurant to add to our roster, we brought our daughter with us to try it out the Friday of that same week. However, this time, our customer service experience was much different and EXTREMELY unsavory. My daughter and I ordered first and opted for the pizza. My hubby ordered his usual, but was informed by the cashier that the cheese could not be substituted out for the avocado as it had been for his sandwich the previous two times we'd been. The cashier told us there was now an upcharge for the avocado substitute. We explained to her that this upcharge was never mentioned to us the before, so we had no idea this was even an issue and were a little confused by the new charge. So, we requested to speak with the store manager. The store manager, Nicole, came over to the register and we attempted to explain the issue to her. However, instead of listening and trying to satisfy the customer/resolve the matter, she decided to continuously interrupt us as we spoke. Nicole was very rude and made the excuse, claiming the previous two cashiers were new and didn't know there should have been an upcharge. Even with her knowing that this was an error on their part, she made absolutely no attempt to rectify the issue. I told her that up until then, it had been a pleasant experience at Newk's, but this was unacceptable behavior of the store manager and absolutely terrible customer service overall. She continued to repeatedly interrupt me as I spoke and ended up turning what should have been a simple fix into an unnecessary and embarrassing scene. After that fiasco and her clearly defiant and obvious inability to resolve the issue, I canceled our entire order and informed her we would never eat there again. Her words to me were "That's fine" in a very condescending, nonchalant, and disrespectful tone. She only began a feeble attempt to change her tune when I told her I would be reaching out to the owner/corporate and spreading the word about my horrible experience via social media. By that time the damage was done and my faith in your establishment had been completely destroyed. At the end of the day, Newk's lost out on a $27 sale that day as well as our, and countless other's business due to your manager having the inability to make good business and customer service decisions. Still to this day, only one person has reached out to me (about a month after the incident) and attempted to resolve or retrieve our business. However, even he was only able to offer excuses for Nicole's incompetence and apologies from him, when he wasn't the offending party. He persuaded me to come in for a lunch on the house and told me to ask for him when I came in, but when I did...to much chagrin, Nicole was still there and he (I believe his name was Brian) was no longer employed with the company. I immediately walked right back out and haven't been back since. It's really unfortunate because I'm responsible for coordinating events for my company where catering is utilized frequently and Newk's could have been at the top of my list, but due to the mishandling of this situation, they're not even a consideration. Such a shame and loss of big business for your...
Read moreVisited during 5:00 rush hour on a Tuesday afternoon but the eatery was almost empty. Parking was sufficient and free. Placed order and quickly sit down. Establishment was clean and very spacious. Did not use restrooms but they are available. The food returned very quickly. Of note are the following: all pizzas are the same size which are personal size. recommendations made by cashier and we accepted their choice. if you are a meat eater, I suggest you special order the pizza with those meats and cheese you desire, otherwise their out-of-the box meat pizza lacks any resemblance to a combination of meats. I personally viewed their meat pizza as the best veggie pizza I have ever had. I also suggest, should you desire a thin crust, crispy pizza, to have them run it through their oven 1 1/2 times. Any more may burn the pizza. l also noted the ingredients were all fresh vegetables, hand cut and prepared on site. Noting this, their salad bowls resembled a massive feeding trough which will take care of the most hungry man (or woman). This will be on my return visit menu! Pricing was a little on the high side as it was a personal size pizza. One pizza and 3 drinks came to $19. For a family of 4 (assuming the kids are pre-teen or older) you can expect needing 3 or 4 of these personal size pizzas to satisfy their growing bodies. As for adults or seniors, one pizza should do you. Desserts are in high demand. The lemon cake was getting rave reviews while...
Read moreThe epitome of fast food casual, it's okay for what it is... pizzas, salads etc., sadly, they've done away with the things that drew me there for lunch today. I don't go here often because I don't live near one but decided to go today since I was near a location that I had never been to before, but it's a chain so why not..., or so I thought. It used to have a great pizza that had Mediterranean flavors , artichoke hearts, chicken, feta, tomatoes - sadly that's not what they served me today (I didn't read the menu closely because I've have the particular pizza many times (or so I thought) - they've changed the toppings (I have no idea when, but it was definitely within the last year so, not pandemic related) and now instead of tomatoes - they've subbed in pepperoncinis. Which, is okay, I guess IF you like pepperoncini - I do not. Yea, I picked it out, no I didn't make a fuss (my fault for not reading the full menu) but it's not the same without the burst of tomato-ey goodness AND the pepperoncini changes the taste profile . Sigh... and to add insult to injury - what the heck happened to the pickles!? They used to be more along the lines of bread and butter pickles but now they're spicy! (WHY IS EVERYTHING SPICY!)
Service is practically non-existent because they take your order at a register and then you wait for your food - they do ask for a tip though.
I won't be going back, sadly. I really did like that pizza when it was made...
