When we (my partner and I) entered the young lady working the line already seemed to have an attitude so we stood out of line while we decided on what to order - just in case someone else came in.
We make our decisions, he orders the Kale Caesar and I inquire about the hot honey chicken. The young lady was very short and said âItâs popularâ and turned to say something to her coworker. Understanding that we all have a bad day here and there, I just brushed off her attitude and ordered the hot honey chicken, which she began making in a rush.
At this point, my partner and I are the only two people in the restaurant, and at no point during this time did the young lady ask if we wanted any modifications to the meal and just seemed to be in a hurry to get us out the door.
As she made my food, I asked if I could just add a little lettuce to the top. She replied, âit becomes a warm bowl if you do that.â Now, Iâm not a regular here - I just assume that means thereâs a $2 upcharge or something of that nature for the lettuce. I said thatâs fine and she tossed my bowl on the area where she was standing and proceeded back to where she left me (again, she is RUSHING to make our food).
When she gets back to the beginning of the assembly line with the lettuce, she says âwhat kind you want?â As Iâm looking over whatâs there Iâm saying aloud âOkay, you have spinach, arugulaâŚâ She immediately begins tossing that in the bowl. â¨â¨At this point, Iâm short on time and due to a busy schedule - I wonât have a chance to go somewhere else to grab lunch. So I proceed to the end of the line to pay for our food.
My partner (who originally had questions about a new menu item), notices her attitude, and orders something simple to avoid having to communicate in depth with her because of it. one of the other workers is seeing it as well, so she comes to the register to take the payment.
When she rang up the food - I essentially paid for everything Ă la carte - starting with $9.95 for the greens. I paid for it, because again, I have no time to go anywhere else, and with back-to-back meetings, I only had a few minutes to step out and grab lunch.
As Iâm grabbing utensils, my partner looks over the receipt and asks why I was charged twice for chicken and why everything was a separate charge when all I requested was lettuce.
He proceeds back to the register to ask the cashier who I can tell is feeling horrible about our experience, but tells us that when I made it a âwarm bowlâ I was agreeing to pay for everything separately.
Again, at no point during the process did the young lady on the line say, insinuate, explain, or even try to communicate that information. Instead, she proceeded with an attitude and rushed to make our food and did not communicate or reply with 1-3 word answers if we asked a question.
When we were talking to the cashier, the young lady pretended to not hear the convo as she was now working on another person's order. Mind you, the person she was working with was an older white woman and her demeanor was definitely softer with this customer, than when she was working with us. She even began operating like she wasnât the person who just made our order and left the cashier alone to handle our questions about the charges.
The most frustrating part - as a black woman, I understand a bad day isn't convenient and tried to giver her grace by just letting her attitude slide. But the poor communication, and the disgusting attitude, paired with the blatant attempt to ignore us while we talked this over with the cashier, were all too much and shouldnât be tolerated by a company with a higher standard of customer service.
I would never recommend that location to anyone in the area and will gladly take my business to any of the other restaurants nearby before being treated so horribly and charged $10 for âlettuce,â ever again.
I am beyond disappointed in my experience and will absolutely leverage my Google review status to share it...
Read moreThe food is fresh, delicious, healthy, fast, and consistent. I also love that they remodeled that corner of 5 Points, making the property look and feel so much better. That raises property values and is much appreciated.
I like that they list where the food comes from. One thing I need to check on is whether they try to buy only organic, as thatâs important to me.
I love that I can customize my meal easily with the app (I was overwhelmed by the app at first, but once I understood it, itâs really easy).
I like that they note if something has meat or dairy. I wish theyâd also note when something has honey, as I donât eat honey. I didnât see any notation about eggs, so I assume none of their items contain eggs as an ingredient. If any do contain eggs, I hope they indicate as such.
I also like that they are eager to please and improve. They seem to value customer feedback and take it to heart. One thing they could do to improve is to be a little more vegan friendly. For example, provide grilled tempeh as an option (Iâm not a huge tofu fan). Since I live close, Iâd like to eat there frequently, but I may get tired of the same things. A vegan ranch dressing would also be a nice addition. And Iâd love to have their vinaigrette dressing, but thereâs honey in it. Vegan honey is super easy to find and tastes identical, so it would be great if theyâd consider switching so vegans can eat it, too. đđĽ
Lastly, I read some other reviews and wanted to comment on them. Some said the food didnât look like the photo. Iâm wondering how they expect to have their salad tossed with dressing and still come out looking like the photo. If appearance is very important, order the sauce on the side. Also, some didnât like that a machine makes the food and humans are being replaced. Welcome to the future. Humans are not being replaced, the jobs are shifting so humans can evolve. If we can do something faster and more efficiently, why not? And there most certainly are still plenty of employees there. If we support innovative companies, we can help keep costs down, and maybe humans wonât have to work so much to maintain...
Read moreWORST costumer service from the so call "manager" if I could give him a zero I would. I made my order online while AT WORK to avoid a wait time, in the confirmation email it stated my order would be ready by 2:10pm. Upon arrival at 2:20 I went to the pickup station thinking I would just need to pick it up my order and go about my day and what a surprise my order was not there. No biggie, I thought maybe they are still working on it, but I was very annoyed. I spoke with a gentleman and gave him the name I placed the order under; he looked through the pickup orders and wasn't able to find my order. He proceeds working on other order as I'm standing there with no answer. The so call manager then comes up and I again give the name I placed my order under. He looked through the pickup station and then walks off to the register, as I'm standing there confused, I look through my emails and I inform the gentleman working on pickup orders that I received an email stating my order was completed. He stated that my order was properly getting finished and that it would be out soon and went on preparing other orders no with urgency on finding or working on mine. While on a facetime call the manager walks up to me and asked if I remembered what I ordered. As I'm telling my sister I would have to call her back, so that I could pull up the email with my order details. The manager walked away and mumbled something under his mouth. He then came back asking ME why I was so upset in such a hostile tone, and things went left from there. There was a lovely lady there who works in the front bar who jumped in to make things right and completed my order in less than 5 minutes. She acted more of a manager than the actual manager there which is extremely sad! I arrived at 2:20 and left at 2:30ish, what was the point in ordering online!?! Lunch break wasted there when things could have been fixed in less than 5 minutes the moment, they realized my order was not done...
