After I got done visiting one of the worst zoos in the world (elmwood) I stopped in here to get some hoagies on our way back home and Lee’s is one of our favorite hoagie places although I’ve never been to this location.
Well, this is probably the best Lee’s hoagies I’ve been to. The staff not only whipped up delicious hoagies that Lee’s is known for, but they had that old school customer service that I haven’t seen since the 90s.
I wish I had brought my family in because the ambience was so relaxed and they have an entire wall dedicated to Philadelphia Eagles history that you can easily get lost in if you stare at it too long. I’m from Philadelphia and I used to see this all the time, but you just don’t see that anymore, anywhere.
I had mistakenly bought a diet root beer and quickly returned and the manager or owner was already waiting there because he saw me approaching from the parking lot and he had a new, regular one ready to exchange it with me.
I haven’t seen such deliberate proactivity since the military.
Great shop and I...
Read moreI have to say Lee's has very good food. But on 8/22/20 my wife asked if they do curb side, they do not. ( Very surprising during Covid) She even asked if they could bring the food out to her car because she is on crutches as it is very difficult to carry things and open doors. The answer was No. The person working wasn't even nice enough to get the door for her when she left. I most likely will no longer be coming to this location anymore. The fact that they can't even take a minute of their time to help a customer shows they have no good customer relations.
Ok, small update after owners response. When asked about curbside and explaining she is on crutches the person never actually said No but didn't say Yes either. He was beating around the bush complaining about being short staffed. When she was leaving she thought someone would be nice enough to get the heavy door for her, instead they did ask but by that point she was annoyed. Look if curbside is available the answer to that question should be a quick YES, not...
Read moreA bit disappointed at how my visit went down. First I ordered a single cheeseburger, fries and a drink. I was told fries are made to order, but they were not hot like a made to order should be. Second, my burger was on a hoagie roll as they ran out of burger rolls. The bread was fine but it would have been nice to be told that they ran out of hoagie rolls as I probably would have ordered something different. 3rd, I asked for pickles on the side for my burger, was told it would be an additional dollar, so I said never mind. I didn't order extra pickles, just wanted a few on the side for my burger. Wondering if I would have been charged for pickles if I had them put it on the sandwich. Overall very disappointing as I have been a customer for 40 + yrs. Allan at 2nd street pike would have never treated me this way as j was a customer of his back in the 80s when I lived...
