Rumors are true, the employees have just terrible attitudes. Chicken's good, but not worth being talked down to for asking a simple question. It has gotten slightly better over the years, but the customer service is still pretty garbage.
Edit: Quality has gotten way worse. The nearby Wendy's is about 5x better and even McD's is about 2x their quality. This Popeye's will sell you cold, unseasoned chicken and act like that's better than the fine dining restaurant across the street.
They have great chicken (all sides are terrible imo), but Popeyes seems to have a contract with their employees mandating a negative attitude because I have literally never once had a genuinely positive experience.
I have probably purchased 15 meals from Popeyes and every single one has had a wildly overrated side and a main that is wildly overstated. Until recently, that meant that if the main wasn't amazing, the side would be. There is literally not a single side that you could pay me to eat. This is a dead section of the menu. If you like this section, you may as well be dead, it is terrible.
This is decent chicken, but you can drive literally 30 seconds more to places with vastly better product. Wendy's, Punch Pizza, Burgers and Melts, Leann Chin, El Burrito, Smashburger, Redstone, or Champps can easily make better food for the same price (+tip in most cases, admittedly) and those locations are literally less than a 5 minute walk from this Popeyes. I work near this location, which is why I can say so much about it.
Whoever owns this location refuses to listen to feedback. I have been overcharged by $5 in the last two orders because the employees are completely incompetent. That is theft. This worthless location will literally steal from you and refuse your business afterward. Claiming to close at 10PM, while refusing customers at 9:35pm WILL result in negative reviews. I understand where you're coming from, but you're lying about your hours with that...

I then drove my car around the building to park. As we walked inside I could see IVY the manager sitting with a guy that was eating lunch. We waited at the counter IVY walked up and I asked for a refund because the chicken is cold. She said with an attitude "I CAN NOT GIVE A REFUND WITHOUT A RECEIPT." Keep in mind she never asked for a receipt. I said to Ivy, I never recieved a recepit and thats not my problem! Ivy said let me call my manager. I waited and it was a disaster. She came back with an attiude even worse saying let me check for each and every peice. I said to her why would I keep any unwanted food I'm not homeless just give me my $24.44 I'm ready to go! She yelled at me saying "I AM NOT GIVING YOU ANYTHING AND LEAVE NOW." I SAID TO IVY GIVE ME MY MONEY AND I'LL BE HAPPY TO LEAVE IVY. IVY LOOKED AT ME AND SAID I'M CALLING POLICE. Half the time when you go there in the evening to order or to pick up an order you already have, the lobby is closed even when the business is supposed to be open according to the hours posted on their door and listed online. So then you always have to turn around, hop back in your car and go through the drive-thru to order or to pick up your order. And there's no notice of any kind whatsoever on the doors of the store or anywhere online or in the app or anywhere else that gives any indication whatsoever that the lobby and drive-thru might have different hours, or that the lobby might unexpectedly be closed at random times. But it is unexpectedly closed at random times, so half the time you go up to the lobby expecting it to be open and the doors are locked, it's so frustrating and irritating! If they're going to have different hours for the lobby and drive-thru sometimes, then they need to give a notice of that on the storefront doors, online, in the app, anywhere at all but they don't. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed this and personally I'm really sick of it!
