This place is foul. Went in, asked for a margarita. She served twenty minutes worth of other people who came after me, ran pull tabs, restocked, the whole bit. Brought me back a margarita with rum in it. When I tasted it, asked if I wanted it remade... Well... Yes, I do.. she says "sorry, I didn't think you would taste it." Should of known to leave right then. She went to make me a new one. Again, began restocking and pulling more pull tabs for people. Any bartender knows it's liquor first. Especially when someone is obviously just having one drink before close. She then proceeds to let my drink sit there while regulars come up and conversate with her drunkenly yell and probably spit over my glass. Ice melting .. other overserved people being served again before me. Finally makes it to me after at least a half hour of this. I get part way through the drink and see lip prints all over the rim of the glass. I won't bring in the atmosphere, cause it's not cool to judge a place on last call. But the way they keep their bar and the level of professionalism in the staff has nothing to do with that. Super regretting...
Read moreI have been to Engel's twice now even though I have lived in Edmonds for 18 years or so. A friend of mine and I popped in one night after leaving Tiki Taki and hear music. The band was great! Great songs, people of all ages! This place keeps Edmonds from being Deadmonds! Keep up the great music that takes you back in time! I went to Engels for a third time. There are some regulars that appear drunk. They were nice but drunk. I have to be honest. I noticed an older man that was there all three times my friend and I were. He was absolutely being overserved. He walks home but....what if he was hit by a car. I have been meaning to call the owner. Haven't been back since. The upside, there are some nice people there too not overly drunk. I started looking around the area for places you could dance that don't serve alcohol. Nope, not in my area or in surrounding areas. It's quite popular in NY and LA right now. Only serve natural drinks. It's my dream to have a venue with...
Read moreEngel's is certainly the local haunt for Edmonds Residents and is known for its regular live music schedule and karaoke nights, and it tends to gather a majority of people from their late thirties to late sixties. It's a fine place and the staff and regulars are good people, but for me the layout of the building usually keeps me from going. It's a narrow but long "hall style" bar which creates an incredibly dense crowd from front to back where you're often finding yourself fighting to get to and fro from your table or the bar. The staff and patrons are all wonderful people, and they'll treat you right with pretty much no drink cut off, but that can make the dense crowd a bit sloppy to boot. It's a great place and a favorite for a lot of people and for good reason, and it might be yours too. If I can slip in on a quiet afternoon for a cold one and a game of pool, it's amazing, but if it's a music night (which it often is) you'll find...
