So a year or two ago, I believe I wrote a review of the Jail, saying it had gone way down hill, and their prices, which were already on the outside edge of reasonable, had gone up. Between that and the fact that it's a good distance from my day to day commute, I've not been back since, but I did still miss it.. A few weeks ago, Chi's popped up, and I couldn't get my head around the idea of Korean tacos. It weirded me out, but intrigued me nonetheless. Today, I went in craving sushi, but only able to afford McDonald's, and they delivered. I got a spicy pork bowl with kimchi, and some fries. All I can really say is it was great. As for the relevance of The Jail, Chi's hits every check box that The Jail does, and more. The quality of the food is better, they have a more diverse menu, with more options for the financially challenged, and last, but not least, they have many more varieties of sauce, to help fine tune the flavor. I also really love the low key and small scale vibe of the place. It feels a lot more relaxed and far less... For lack of a better word, gentrified than most restaurants in Eugene. Don't get me wrong, I'll still eat killer burger from time to time, and enjoy it. Though I don't really like feeling cramped, I really appreciate the chill vibe. My only small gripes are the size of the space, (not a big deal, I prefer to get food to go anyway, and they have to keep the overhead low somehow) and the fact that my kimchi was mixed in with the bowl, which cooled it down by the time I found a good place to chow. (At least partially my fault, since I didn't eat in) Definitely not enough to remove a star. I hope this place sticks around, because this may be my new lunch spot.

Wanted to try something new, went by for brunch. Narrowed down what I wanted from a short list. Burrito with pork (sweet spicy) and a breakfast burrito with bacon nuggets (not pictured... devoured) everything was so good. The tortilla was soft and fresh, eggs were perfectly scrambled and textured well, cabbage fresh and crunchy, rice was a nice accent, not unnecessarily rice stuffed, and the meats broke down well without any weird bits. Chi is definitely a master of sauces! Each sauce that I tried went amazing with both burritos and the chips tasted fresh with a great complimentary spice, salty and maybe hint of lime? I can't wait to go back and try the rice ball next!

DANK AF!! Their tofu tacos are INCREDIBLE!! What got me was the smiling customer service, especially since the location is downtown. With that said, it can be somewhat questionable with the customers. The portions were generous. The store decor was dope and brought on many giggles of glorious past memories. Chi's, thank you for Anchorman (I heart Baxter) and the delicious food before my VIP Prof show.

There's a reason why Chi won Eugene Weekly's Best Hole-in-the-Wall for 2018-2019.

The first thing you experience is when you step off the EmX: he's sharing music, and it's always good.

The second thing you experience is the fun of ringing the bell. There are multiple bells. Ring all of them. No, really ring them. Even if he's looking right at you. Make music.

The third thing is going to be Chi or Jack. They're wonderful people and not at all what you expect. If you're looking for business-as-usual customer service, shame on you. They're real people, and that's my favorite part of their service. They have a good sense of humor. Appreciate them. I certainly do.

The fourth thing while you wait for your food (which won't be long) is an opportunity to add to the atmosphere. Do that. It's fun.

The fifth and most important thing is the food. His food is delicious. Anything that says spicy on the menu is spicy. Eat it. Don't be a baby. It's good for you. Get something with the bacon nuggets in it for sure. It's the best meat in the house. All of it is reasonably priced when you factor portion and quality together.

It's my favorite place to eat in downtown Eugene, and I can't speak highly enough of Chi, Jack, and the food they serve. Go here....

Okay look, I dont write reviews. EVER, never have. so first let that sink in. So I'm going to tell you what made me literally pull out my phone, look this place up, and review it. This place is INCREDIBLE. It's so simple, so fast and so cheap and last but not least SOOO GOOD! I just got off work and skated by.. seriously had to turn around when my nose broke off and decided to stay at the restaurant as I rode away because my nose did NOT want that smell to leave. So I turned around to go take a look at what smelled so good. I get greeted by the chef, who gives me a very warm welcome with a huge smile. I just leave it really up to him and just tell him to make me his favorite since I have never been. And he did just that, and that, blew me away. He whips out this spicy sweet chicken taco in about 2 minutes flat, with VERY fresh tasting chicken. Had NOT been sitting around just being heated. It has the PERFECT blend of veggies on top. Then to perfect it there is about 6 different sauces to put on it. On mine I chose sweet and spicy. Couldnt have been better. I would recommend this place to ANY TACO LOVER ! Biggups guys this place kills the...
